jayjuice created the group "Top 40 Favorites for 2005 as chosen by Me" and invited me.
i was challenged by this exciting adventure and thought it would be a great inducement to reflect my own choises... but the more i looked the harder was it.
at last it seemed impossible to reduce nearly 1800 gorgeous and so much appreciated pictures to only 40!!!
as jayjuice said: "i just wish i could have included some more of my very special photos and friends. just wait until you try to get you favourites down to 40. it's agony!!"
now i'm so happy about these 40 and at the same time so unhappy about missing the others - what an ordeal it must be to make the choise for an exhibition or a book...
... although i wished we could do this one day all together...
Possibly my favorite self-portrait (as well as one of my most obscured...coincidence?). This was actually shot last year right before Christmas in one of the coldest days I have ever experienced. We had just had an ice storm, and it was 6 below zero (the camera body recorded -17C in the EXIF info) with winds gusting up to 30 mph. You can see the wind whipping up snow off the ground and blowing it across the river in the background.
I had dressed well enough to stay out about 3 hours or so...you can see the ice on my scarf from my breath freezing. About an hour after this shot though, even 5 layers on my upper body wasn't enough to keep me warm...I was happy for hot chocolate that day!
You'd think this was in some remote, frozen northern wasteland...but no...its the Kankakee River State Park in Illinois.
after closing of Polaroid factories, The Impossible Project began to take charge of starting again with all the production of polaroid film to put it back to the markets. i appreciated so much the effort of the people involved in it and i bought some packs. and now, these 5 polaroids that you can see here, are not existing anymore, i shot them 1 month ago and now the picture is gone due to an unstable chemical composition of the film, i imagine.
i hope they improve their manufacturing, as each pack of 8 pictures is too expensive to have pictures that only last one month.

As I work to grow my illustration business, I'm working to grow my illustration skill, too. I've spent the past few months drawing from life to help improve my abilities, but I started to find it a bit limiting. Whenever I couldn't find an image that matched my ideas, I'd feel I had hit a bit of a block.
So I decided to change up my regular practice. Each month, I'm choosing a different theme for daily drawing, and this month's theme is "Impossible". As long as it's something I can't draw from life, it counts. This is forcing me to be a bit more adventurous with my illustration, and it's making me realize that all that life drawing has really improved my ability to draw from memory and imagination.
So far, these two images are my favorite impossible drawings. Cathulhu and a slug jouster.

Munchkin's future is so bright, I've got to wear shades.
As far as I know the Munchkin Impossible Sunglasses have no beneft except for glassless Munchkins wearing a concealed Super Munchmin shirt.
Just because his wife was away with children for holidays and that "his soul was getting bored" (as the expression goes), he thought it was a good reason enough to insist heavily, not wanting to understand that I did not need any companion or male protector...
Sometimes, it's unbearable - men just don't want to understand the women who intend to remain alone while travelling...
