Impossible Project Color Film for SX-70

Scan from print

my other wonderful birthday treat was to visit The Impossible Project's store/gallery space in NYC -- such gorgeous new prints and the walls, such gorgeous light, and such gorgeous staff! so wonderful to finally meet anne and dave in person!!

SX-70, Impossible film

Over Oregon. Or Utah.

When the view is so fantastic, one just CAN'T drive on. Photo stops are needed every 5 minutes, or less. The only reason why we reached our destination (and were therefore able to sleep in beds) is because it got dark. Then we could drive on!

Exif:

ISO 100 ; f/14 ; 1/80 ; @28mm

"Impossible project" PX100

Shot with SX-70 camera with flashbar and 2 settings on the darken side.

The black side is a little....dusty!

In the top area is visible a darker strip (i've got this problem with some TZ artistic too).

Still loving the Instant Lab.

Valiant effort on the part of my Cotton rose, but Jack Frost had other ideas. Impossible to bloom after the cold nights. I have always loved plants in all stages of their lives. To me, it is nature's art.

Another Iron Forge build. I've used the flag piece 2 times for both sides of the sneakers. Everything is LEGO, even the stickers were cut out from an unused stickers sheet.

I saw this technique from my friend Balbo

The arch that is impossible to hide (right foot)

Stage 7.1

So yes it's official - top secret work has started on the construction of a film set for Tom Cruise's Mission impossible 7 at Darlton Quarry in the Peak District. (Just don't tell anyone and make sure you stay well clear and wear your face masks as TC might get cross at you if you don't www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-kgApji3QM)

Here's the low down on the film en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mission:_Impossible_7

A very comprehensive set of planning papers can be found here portal.peakdistrict.gov.uk/11201048 that explains how a train line is to be built so a train can crash from a bridge into the quarry below to the advantage of the great crested newts in nearby Goddards Quarry who will get a new pond for their relatives to live in as a result.

That bit of ironwork you can see at the quarry edge is the first part of the bridge structure which will take some time to complete .

Watch this space as they say.

( The things that come out of an afternoon's exercise walk from home during a pandemic )

Made with the Impossible Lab.

I named this image An "Impossible Composite" because light pollution prevents this scene from ever being able to play out. The Milkyway will never be viewable like this over heavily populated urban areas due to the amount of lights concentrated in these areas. I wanted to create this "fantastical" image to showcase the beauty of our night sky and hopefully inspire some people who have dwelt in and amongst our cities for their entire lives to get out to the natural and just look up.

Locations:

Matagorda, TX: Milkyway

Houston, TX: City Skyline (Lower Left)

Galveston, TX: Abandoned Army Bunker (Lower Right)

Camera: Polaroid SX-70

Film: Impossible B&W SX-70 (2016-03)
