With several inches of snow on the ground and more falling for the time being, the "Watts Dodger" local RK04-10 grinds up the hill out of Watts and into Siloam Springs, AR on Friday, January 10, 2025 as western Arkansas does its best to imitate the weather in Canada where the lead locomotive used to belong.

The vault of the church imitates Hagia Sophia.

In the center is the image of Christ the Great Bishop surrounded by Archangels. He is represented on the Throne as King and Priest. Next to the Savior, the Mother of God and John the Baptist turn to Him.

Artist Ivan Izhakevich (1864-1963).

In Christian and, including, Ukrainian sacred art, Old Testament characters (prophets and forefathers) play the role of heralds of the New Testament, symbolizing the meeting of the Old and New Testaments.

In this case, in the dome of the temple, Christ the Savior is enthroned surrounded by the Mother of God, John the Forerunner and archangels, and below, on a drum of light, he is surrounded by 16 prophets, each of whom holds a scroll with prophecies about the birth of the Messiah. In Ukraine, if the prophets are represented in the iconostasis, as a rule, they create the highest iconostasis rank.

Taken in the Great Smokey Mountains at an Art Wolfe Photo Workshop that I attended in Oct. 2012. Art Wolfe said to study the greatest works of art. Focus on the concepts, vision of the artist, lines, depth and then go out and try to imitate it in your photography. I thought this scene reminded me of several painting I have seen before. From the Chihuly at Biltmore installation at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, USA. Unfortunately, we arrived mid day, and the sun was pretty intense. So, it was a challenge to get a shot that was not blown-out in the high sun.

This metal sculpture is being used by birds! One of two more photos taken of the Humber Bay Butterfly Habitat on my walk with Shauna on Sunday. Straight out of Camera, with name added.

"The Humber Bay Butterfly Habitat (HBBH) is an ecological restoration project that provides critical habitat for a variety of native butterfly species. Located along the shores of Lake Ontario in Toronto’s west end, HBBH incorporates a diversity of native wildflowers, shrubs, trees, grasses, sedges and a variety of physical features known to support butterflies throughout all life cycles. The goal of HBBH is to establish a self-sustaining native plant community which will support a variety of butterfly species, while engaging and educating park users about the value of urban wildlife habitat."

Frankly, Some people don’t have a particular personality in their lifespan,

Wondering about their mind existence thinking or unthinking ..They even don’t have a specific habits. Usually, acting such as the others.

Basically, it’s a brilliant feeling ,emotion as long as you are distinct .

However , it’s so harassing sometimes!!

I was able to watch this Mom and 3 cubs while they slept. I love the way the cub looks up at mom to see her stick out her tongue then imitates her. I have never witnessed this before and thought it was very sweet!

Orgel der Hofburgkapelle

This organ was built for imperial Hofbgurgkapelle in Vienna. Its unusual case corresponds with the available space.

Anton Bruckner was the organist at this instrument.

The manufacturer, Carl Friedrich Ferdinand Buckow (1801-1864), was a typical representativ of organ romanticism.

The disposition displays clearly the characteristic of romantic organs, to imitate orchestra voices; several stops are named after stringed or other orchestra instruments.

The instrument was transferred to the Vienna Technical Museum without the upper case and without front pipes.

The missing part was restored according to the original drawing by Buckow and a photo of the front.

The ripples in the water seems to reflect the motion and lines of the Alligator gliding through the surface algae.

Taken while the sun was still shining in Walla Walla, WA. Last night we had gusts of wind up to 45mph and it's supposed to rain today and possibly snow tonight. Weird weather continues!!

Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life. Oscar Wilde. The Decay of Lying. Essay. Title explanation see below.

Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde (16 October 1854 – 30 November 1900) was an Irish poet and playwright. After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, the early 1890s saw him become one of the most popular playwrights in London. He is best remembered for his epigrams and plays, his novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, and the circumstances of his criminal conviction for gross indecency for consensual homosexual acts, imprisonment, and early death from meningitis at age 46.

Wilde's parents were Anglo-Irish intellectuals in Dublin. A young Wilde learned to speak fluent French and German. At university, Wilde read Greats; he demonstrated himself to be an exceptional classicist, first at Trinity College Dublin, then at Oxford. He became associated with the emerging philosophy of aestheticism, led by two of his tutors, Walter Pater and John Ruskin. After university, Wilde moved to London into fashionable cultural and social circles.

As a spokesman for aestheticism, he tried his hand at various literary activities: he published a book of poems, lectured in the United States and Canada on the new "English Renaissance in Art" and interior decoration, and then returned to London where he worked prolifically as a journalist. Known for his biting wit, flamboyant dress and glittering conversational skill, Wilde became one of the best-known personalities of his day. At the turn of the 1890s, he refined his ideas about the supremacy of art in a series of dialogues and essays, and incorporated themes of decadence, duplicity, and beauty into what would be his only novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray (1890). Title explanation

Anti-mimesis is a philosophical position that holds the direct opposite of Aristotelian mimesis. Its most notable proponent is Oscar Wilde, who opined in his 1889 essay The Decay of Lying that, "Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life". In the essay, written as a Platonic dialogue, Wilde holds that anti-mimesis "results not merely from Life's imitative instinct, but from the fact that the self-conscious aim of Life is to find expression, and that Art offers it certain beautiful forms through which it may realise that energy."

What is found in life and nature is not what is really there, but is that which artists have taught people to find there, through art. As in an example posited by Wilde, although there has been fog in London for centuries, one notices the beauty and wonder of the fog because "poets and painters have taught the loveliness of such effects...They did not exist till Art had invented them." For the January "chair" challenge in memory of Kelli Paswater.

It took me a while to find this stool but I really wanted to imitate Kelli's "just sittin" series. Sparta couldn't fit (which wasn't a surprise) but luckily our cat was able to help.

His version of the "face plant"!!

It’s not a real Dalmatian…otherwise Lassie would have been barking, maybe angry!

Do not why but she does not like Dalmatians!

Never happened something bad with them but every time she sees a Dalmatian she barks and seems angry! (as much as a collie could seem!)

This summer we met one of them at the park…and I thought “here comes the fight”…

But nothing, sniffing and nothing more…

But her dislike still exist!

Maybe she watched 101 Dalmatians and loved Cruella De Vil!

I’m getting used to take my plastic friends with us…a new photographic challenge! : )

**Update: This photo was picked up on Facebook and I even found a Reddit thread on it. Cracks me up to have people debating my Photoshop skills. This isn't Photoshopped! It's simply a picture of Brady yawning in front of a framed print of him yawning.**

I ordered a big framed copy of "Rawr" and hung it in our bedroom. I knew I wanted to get a shot like this, but I didn't expect it to happen when I had my camera packed up and was on my way to a pet photography shoot. Brady had just gotten on the bed and I knew there was a good chance he'd yawn. I was right. Next time I'll make sure the bed is made!

(For those in the US, I highly recommend Americanframe.com for printing and framing--their prices are very reasonable, and in most cases, shipping is free.)

Tank, posing just like the bulldog pillow next to him. I love that pillow. I have to keep an eye on that pillow as Faith my boxer yearling seems to think it's part of her chew toy collection.

Tank is so naturally funny. He's the funniest of my three dogs. He looks so clean here cuz he just got a bath. =)
