Tawny Frogmouth (Podargus strigoides) juvenile female
Just for fun. Junior on the left was copying everything Mum was doing on this day. Sometimes junior spends the day with Mum and sometimes sit on a branch near where Dad is sitting on the nest.
Is that an ocean and sky with clouds? No. Just a house in need of some paint in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

It's quite amazing how long this American bittern can hold this position.
Brazos Bend State Park, Texas
Pattern, shadow, form. Was intending B&W, but then got seduced by these subtle colors.
Happy Sliders Sunday!
Life is Messy, Art is Messy... Well, mine is anyway.

A photo I mashed together at some point... Honestly not too sure when. I think it came out alright! I wish the paint had blended in a little better, but I guess that's what we get!

Week 47 in 52 Weeks for Dogs and it's the 'imitation' challenge once again.
From my shortlist I chose Dave's delightful shot of Agnes (see his shot in the comment box). This one nearly didn't happen as the lower-case letters I ordered were tiny, and on the dark wood the letters barely showed up. So, I ordered another set but had to settle for upper-case letters.
I made this oil painting of a blossoming peony in my garden. I just wanted to share on this gorgeous Friday evening.
Institute for Disease Modeling and Targeted Medicine
Analyzing and treating the consequences of genetic alterations is the goal of researchers at the Institute for Disease Modeling and Targeted Medicine (IMITATE) at the University of Freiburg and the University Medical Center Freiburg, Germany.
I think these folk follow my photostream! Well maybe not, but I did like the mix of pattern and shapes.
Seen in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Our last stop on our cruise and just a few pics taken on a taxi ride from the a tram that goes up the mountain through the town and then back to the ship.
Our Aria likes to get a high vantage point when viewing the yard, and sometimes perches on top of the dog house for a better view!
Let me start with NO AI was used in this pic.
If you have an SL FB account you know that there is a current trend where people are taking their AVI and making them look like a rl character using AI (ChatGPT specifically) and then they are putting that character in different scenes.
I decided to do the opposite today.
So I took one of those prompts , read it, and then actually took my SL character in SL and put it in a scene that matched the prompt. Taking a fully SL made pic, again no AI.
What did I use to accomplish this.
1. I read the prompt of course
2. I took my AVI to my platform and used a green screen
3. the following was used to work on the lighting on the face and around it
* - Black Dragon
* - a Lelutka 4.0 head,
* - in I increased the Glossiness and Luminosity
* - LumiPro for the purple , blue and white lighting
* - This Is Wrong (one of the wet shines
I think droplets , for the water - take your pick
* - I used photoshop to enhance the crispness of the face
and the lighting, and I added rim lighting a new
background using various photoshop techniques

Or is it the other way around? In his 1889 essay 'The Decay of Lying', Oscar Wilde says, "Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life."
I had intended to give Brian a break from Macro Mondays this week (or is it the other way around...). Then, as I searched the cupboards for some interesting glass article to photograph, I came across six coloured champagne flutes - an unwanted (and forgotten) gift that had been stored at the back of a top shelf (the flutes had been used just once, when I discovered that the bright colours could easily peel off!). When Brian saw the spirals painted on the sides of the glasses, he insisted on taking part this week.
For Macro Mondays theme 'Glass'. The shell measured 1.5cm, making the photograph 7 cm across.
No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.
I have been told I look just like a tiktok user called nickfontaine. I don't really see the resemblance but that guy sure is hot!
Another frosty image from Co. Mayo, Ireland, but this time (obviously) in black and white. With the sun blocked my clouds, the festive frostiness takes a somber turn.
