I was experimenting with Ilford Pan F Plus ISO 50 Black and White film in these shots. I found several things I like about the film. It's an extremely fine grain film. I was experimenting with depth of field in these mantis shots. Some were shot handheld with a very shallow depth of field to throw the background out of focus and give surreal bokeh. Others were shot with a tripod, small aperture and slow shutter speed. Yashica FX-3 Super 2000, Vivitar series 1 28-90mm F2.8-3.5 lens, Tiffen Yellow #8 filter, Ilford Pan F Plus film, F2.8
I had mislabeled this as shot with a Kodak Recomar with 13.5cm Xenar and Rada 6x9 back. It was actually shot with a Welta 9x12 with 15cm f3.5 Xenar Typ D, and Rada 6x9 roll-film back.
From the evening/night Flickr meet back in August 2007. I'm a little behind on my printing.

Stopped by Marginal Way Skatepark to skate last Saturday and it turned out they were redoing one of the older pockets, so I hauled some buckets in exchange for some shots.

On the Royal Mile this morning (Sunday 26/6/11) in Edinburgh. The massed pipes and drums --- actually, I think there were four pipe bands --- marching from the castle to Holyrood park in support of Armed Forces Day.
The Sunday events were for Decaid (http://www.decaid.co.uk/main-events/mass-pipes-and-drums).

Shot on a Pentacon Six, 80mm Biometar with short extension tube. Expired and defective Ilford Pan F Plus. Developed in caffenol C (40g Nescafe classic, 30g washing soda (made by putting baking soda in a hot oven for an hour or so), 5g citric acid crystals and 500ml of water. Developed for about 12 minutes at an accidental temperature of about 26C. Film is still cloudy, baking powder may not have fully converted, the age of the film may be a problem and the temperature was wrong. In addition, the film was a nightmare to load on the reel and might have fogged slightly in the process. All in all, getting anything from this experiment - my first attempt with caffenol.
