That white vertical streak on the far right of the picture is Eas an t-Srutha Ghil, a waterfall in Assynt, Scotland. It's not the highest waterfall in the UK- that's Eas a'Chual Aluinn which is where we were heading on the day this photo was taken, and is almost directly opposite Eas an t-Srutha Ghil, across the valley of Abhainn an Loch Bhig (River of the Little Loch, I think.) In this photo, you can also see the Stack of Glencoul.

I am conducting a project where I take both my M3 and my IIIa and shoot the same scenes at the same times, so that I can compare the outcome.

This is a shot of the Russian chapel on Mathildenhöhe, Darmstadt, taken with the IIIa. The corresponding picture with the M3 is here.

Today we’re sitting down with Mike Fraser, Toronto-based photographer, cancer researcher and all round globe-trotting nice guy.

Mike works in film of all formats, as well as the occasional foray into digital. He has (we think) an incredibly keen eye for detail in shadows. To be clear,...

Roma, Tor Cervara

With the help of my good friend Jeremy Moore, I'm finally getting good ideas for where I want to go in choosing a process for making fine prints of some of my B&W images. In abbreviated terms, this is a Palladium print on drafting vellum that is dry-mounted to watercolor paper and then waxed. This is just a test print, so the tones aren't exactly where I want them, and the scan doesn't quite do justice to the print itself (which looks great), but I am really excited about this process and will hopefully begin making fine prints again using this method. It's less like a traditional Palladium print in look and more like what I wanted but was never quite able to get out of a lot of silver prints. This is the closest I've come so far to getting the look I really want for a large portion of my personal work, so it's encouraging.
