It was almost daylight when I arrived on this bridge overlooking Armley Junction and Canal Street Leeds, all in the hope of catching a IET Class 800 test train (whilst they still hold some novelty value). They now seam to be spreading their wings and are appearing more regulaly in West Yorkshire, with this due test train heading for Skipton "The Gateway to the Dales"
Between arriving and the due time, the light faded so fast requiring a notch up of the ISO every few minutes, and a change of Lens from the one planned, anyway I think I just about got away with it.

GWR 800 Series IEPs/IETs have begun driver training and testing over Chiltern lines and the first section of the new to be reopened East/West rail link. Whether this is for forthcoming Christmas diversionary work or just a feasibility study I'm not sure. But I was able to get shots of the second test run up the Chiltern route at West Ruislip, the first having been the day before. The 800 class runs from Paddington to Reading Depot via West Ealing, up the 'New North Mainline', up the Chiltern Line and then Oxford to Reading. 800 036 'Dr Paul Stephenson OBE' approaches West Ruislip on very typical overcast skies on November 1st.
