With the Ideal Standard works dominating the canal side scene at Armitage 66415 pops out from behind the line side foliage with 4M81 Felixstowe North to Crewe Basford Hall.
Manche Werbeloks fahren einem dauernd vor die Linse, andere hingegen verbergen sich erfolgreich über Jahre hinweg vor einem. In meinem Falle galt das für die 185 152, die ich zwar schon ein paar Mal gesichtet habe, aber nie vernünftig fotografieren konnte. Die für den großen Kunden Kali + Salz Aktiengesellschaft von DB Cargo werbende Traxx-Maschine ist eine der ältesten Werbeloks der DB. Am 31. August 2024 lief ich auf den Feldern zwischen Meisenbach und Neukirchen herum, um eine geeignete Position für Aufnahmen zu finden. Vollkommen überraschend kam die besagte 185 152 mit einem gemischten Güterzug "um die Ecke" gefahren. Dieser war äußerst fotogen gebildet, die ersten Wagen waren mit großen Rohren beladen. So entstand spontan die hier gezeigte Aufnahme. Nicht optimal vom Standort her, aber so hatte ich zumindest mein erstes Bild der farbenfrohen Werbelok im Kasten.
Some advertising locomotives drive in front of your lens all the time, while others successfully hide from you for years. In my case, this applied to the 185 152, which I have spotted a few times but never managed to take a decent photo of. The Traxx locomotive, which advertises for DB Cargo's big customer Kali + Salz Aktiengesellschaft, is one of DB's oldest advertising locomotives. On 31 August 2024, I walked around the fields between Meisenbach and Neukirchen to find a suitable position for taking pictures. As a complete surprise, the aforementioned 185 152 came ‘round the corner’ with a mixed goods train. It was very photogenic and the first wagons were loaded with large pipes. The photo shown here was taken spontaneously. The location was not ideal, but at least I had my first picture of the colourful advertising locomotive on the memory disk.
ex-Santa Fe C44-9W 647, the last of it's kind not in storage, leads an empty phosphate train to the CSX under the Ideal Rd overpass west of Milledgeville, IL. I had already taken the day off and this was a great start to the day in pursuit of searchlights along the Mississippi River - another dying breed.

A great view from the top of Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons of an imminent snow shower approaching. The beautiful lines and curves of these ridges makes up for any lack of rocky cliffs. I love the wintry feel of this one, and the Ideal Height by Biffy Clyro is perfect as in the hills the ideal height is at the top looking down.
Ideal Hosiery in the Lower East Side was opened in 1950 by Len Friedman and is the last remaining family-owned ladies & men’s hosiery & undergarments business in the neighborhood, which was once the go to area for purchasing “dry goods” including fabric, thread and clothing. Our 35mm film photo of this #hosiery shop appears in our book “Store Front: The Disappearing Face of New York”. & will be one of many we are displaying in our upcoming “STORE FRONT- The Photography Exhibition” at the Village Works Gallery & Bookstore located at 90 East 3rd Street between 1st & 2nd Aves in the East Village from March 17-31, 2022.

Bought some flowers at Lowes the other day to fill in some hanging baskets. Probably not an ideal hanging basket flower, but I couldn't pass up this interesting flower. It seems to be doing well so far.

Soft early-morning light on rugged and colorful badlands formations.
On the final full day of our early-April 2019 photography visit to Death Valley we decided to head for a familiar location where I enjoy photographing in the morning. After being closed earlier in the season this area had finally reopened — flooding of washes in the area had interfered with access, and repairs had be recently completed.
The photographic opportunities in this area — and, to be honest, in many places — depend a lot on the specific qualities of the light during a visit. I've been here where clouds turned everything gray and when intense light made some portions of this landscape a bit too stark for my preferences. This morning was close to ideal. When we arrived, before dawn, there was a high overcast and the light was not all that spectacular. However, the clouds were thin, and as the sun rose the light made it thought the dissipating clouds — and this sort of high, thing clouds provide some of the most subtle and beautiful light.

A Cliché shot of the Cocklawburn Block shaped rocks. I visited here for sunset but there was no cloud cover around, so not ideal conditions. I did try this though, and liked the glow from the sun on the rocks.

Here’s the repainted Eric doll that was started by dollsahoy and I redid his face in my own style to soften up his potato style sculpting. I didn’t have a particular look I need so I’m happy he has a personality and stuff lol.
I also sprayed him down in MSC so his body is now matte and it sorta matches his head better lol. I’m not a huge fan of later 70s dolls but I’m warming up to their… unique style lol.
I thought I had more vintage dolls with blue hair but I guess not lol
