Here Bob and Matt visit the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance the day before the show and attend the Gooding auction. This was a spotting just in the parking lot. The video is available www.sweetingmedia.com and www.youtube.com/user/powerbrakeservice?feature=mhee#p/u/1.... The Gooding auction is a stones throw away from the Clubhouse and has some of the most beautiful cars in the world up for sale. The highlight for us was the 57 Ferrari Testarosa prototype, it was a fan favorite as well, going for 16.4 million dollars.

About Power Brake Service:

We build and Rebuild endless varieties of new and classic brakes for every type of vehicle and trailer. The company was started by George Sweeting in 1950 who worked for the railroads and Lockhead, it is now run by his son Bob Sweeting who learned about modifying cars while drag racing in the 60's, and Bob's son Matt Sweeting (who grew up in all of this) is taking over more and more responsibilities. We were a Warehouse Distributor for Bendix for 20 years until they sold they sold their Power Brake Division to Bosch, which is when we became a special modification contractor with Bosch for their power brakes - which come on most new American vehicles. Our ability to design brake systems, rather than just replace rotors and pads, has taken us to amazing places and we have worked on amazing projects. We have:

Hydro-Boost Conversions

Vacuum Brake - Conversions, Upgrades, and Modifications

Wilwood and Brembo Disc Brake Kits

Master Cylinders

Stainless Braided Hoses

Classic Car / Muscle Car Stock Brake Restoration and Rebuilding (Corvette, Camaro, Chevelle, Mustang, Ford & GM Truck, Mopar, Rolls Royce)

Light Truck / Medium Truck Hydro-Boost Replacement Parts and Conversions

Medium Truck / Heavy Truck Hydro-Max, Air brake, and Air-hydraulic systems - and Hydro-Max Conversions for the obsolete Delco Hypower

Conversions for the obsolete Buick Grand National, T-bird SC, Land Rover, Jeep and all other electric brake booster / electric powermasters

Modified brakes for Altered Bed Fleet Vehicles

Modified sensitivity for the Handicaped

Disc/Drum and Disc/Disc Proportioning Valves

We have worked on everything from propane powered trams to roller coasters, cranes, parade floats, multi engine street rods, classic european cars, double decker buses, and a Freightliner racing truck. Our favorite is working on big engine muscle cars that make too little vacuum and need more stopping power.

Here we are on the peripherals of the Concours d'Elegance, and Bob and Matt are taking a test drive in the Jaguar XJ. The video is available at www.sweetingmedia.com, and www.youtube.com/powerbrakeservice#p/u/5/rztGfndOtIg. The ride was smooth, the power was definitely there, and the interior was... well it was very nice! Personally I would go for the XK, because I'm not into the back of the roofline on the XJ, but I have nothing else bad to say about it.

See the video at www.sweetingmedia.com. Here is the Cadillac display at the Concours d'Elegance, 2011. The concept on show is the Cadillac Ciel concept, Jay Leno just happened to come by for his Jay's Garage shoot during ours. Jay interviews Ed Welburn, VP of Global Design for General Motors. We talk to Ed as well, and we are impressed. Bob pointed out to Ed off camera that this car, rather than being just a concept, would be great for putting an American car in the Rolls Royce Ghost or Phantom field, Ed liked that idea.

This dark carbon silver-painted Crossover demonstrates that a design exists that even an accident could not make worse. I have no idea why such an unpractical and ugly looking car can go in production without questioning the kind of drugs the designer must have consumed. Too many lines, too many excessively sculptured areas, and a door handle at the rear door that a child probably cannot reach to. If it is able to open the door, it will find itself trapped in a dark cavern with almost no chance to take a look outside while the driver must rely on a camera looking back, because the view is obstructed by "design". Even the new hybrid powertrain cannot help here.

The video is available at www.sweetingmedia.com and www.youtube.com/powerbrakeservice#p/u/8/H72E3YmwgxU. This car, as he explains, is what they tried to make out as taking the race car out on to the street. It is has a lot of horsepower as is, but being extremely lightweight, has got to be a rocket.

Here a spokesman from Lotus talks to Matt Sweeting about Lotus and the show stopper Evora GTE concept that they had on display.

Hydro-Boost Conversions

Vacuum Brake - Conversions, Upgrades, and Modifications

Wilwood and Brembo Disc Brake Kits

Master Cylinders

Stainless Braided Hoses

Classic Car / Muscle Car Stock Brake Restoration and Rebuilding (Corvette, Camaro, Chevelle, Mustang, Ford & GM Truck, Mopar, Rolls Royce)

Light Truck / Medium Truck Hydro-Boost Replacement Parts and Conversions

Medium Truck / Heavy Truck Hydro-Max, Air brake, and Air-hydraulic systems - and Hydro-Max Conversions for the obsolete Delco Hypower

Conversions for the obsolete Buick Grand National, T-bird SC, Land Rover, Jeep and all other electric brake booster / electric powermasters

Modified brakes for Altered Bed Fleet Vehicles

Modified sensitivity for the Handicaped

Disc/Drum and Disc/Disc Proportioning Valves

We have worked on everything from propane powered trams to roller coasters, cranes, parade floats, multi engine street rods, classic european cars, double decker buses, and a Freightliner racing truck. Our favorite is working on big engine muscle cars that make too little vacuum and need more stopping power.

Here a spokesman from Lotus talks to Matt Sweeting about Lotus and the show stopper Evora GTE concept that they had on display.

Bob and Matt visit the Concorso Italiano show at Laguna Seca Ranch. The video is available at www.sweetingmedia.com, and www.youtube.com/powerbrakeservice#p/u/12/D-WX99exkpQ. The show is one of the bigger ones in Monterey Race Week, and has some of the best cars on display. There is everything Italian there; Ferrari, Maserati, old Fiat, Fiat 500's, Alfa Romeo, Pininfarina bodied Cadillac, the rare Bizzarrini, Pantera, Lamborghini, Ferrari Daytona, Ferrari 308, Ferrari Dino, and even a Vector. There is also an appearance by Valentino Balboni, the famous Lamborghini test driver.
