Advocates across the state Hundreds converged on the capital for Hunger Action Day to urge legislators and the governor to "Tear Down the Wall of Poverty"
Senator Holly Mitchell spoke to Hunger Action Day attendees encouraging them to keep the pressure on because to address poverty and hunger in our community.
The next day, May 14th advocates returned to speak to the media after Governor Brown's press conference on the revised budget.
Lead organizations for the Bay Area Contingent: The Alameda County Food Bank and the California Partnership.

Everyday I passed this same woman on the streetsin Guayaquil. She looked so beaten by life and poverty. Begging for money from people who already don't have any must be a hard life. My heart still goes out her wherever she is today.
