I came across two coyotes, that I thought were initially playing, but it was more sinister than that. The younger smaller one was dispatching the older, off its territory.

Während andere Vögel pausenlos Beeren sammeln, nach Würmern suchen, nach Maden picken, in tiefen Wassern Fische jagen, da steht der Graureiher einfach nur so da und wartet. Hier an der Fischtreppe der Schleuse Neckarsteinach ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit hoch, dass bald ein Fisch vorbeikommt. Ich habe lange mit ihm gewartet, kam dann doch nix, ich bin wieder heim, er steht vielleicht heute noch dort 😁

While other birds are constantly gathering berries, hunting for worms, pecking at grubs, or chasing fish in deep water, the grey heron simply stands there and waits. Here at the fish ladder of the Neckarsteinach lock, there is a good chance a fish will swim by soon. I waited with him for a long time, but nothing showed up, so I headed home—he might still be standing there today for all I know 😁
