Exploring with my new kitty, Prince! From Jian for fifty linden friday...

No matter when I come by, it seems Oak Hill is always closed. At best, I can wedge my lens through the wrought iron fence to catch a glimpse of what lies beyond.

Standing in the presence of beauty - we are humbled - sometimes with unconscious acknowledgement of the significant benefits it has for us.

Everyday is a sunset day and a sun rise day :-)

- much more important than the ironing or washing the car :-)

Detail of the hands of a woman (Nepal).

Once somebody's home, now just a decoration next to soy fields and a hedgerow.

marginal land aside railway line now designated as a reserve for nature.

Still - in a way - nobody sees a flower - really - it is so small - we haven't the time -

and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time.

[Sorry if I bore you with all these versions of the same pic... but I like them so I upload them ;-)]

Result of cooperational work by the Fix my Pic group.

Original shot taken by me, post-production is brilliantly made by digikuva. He also gave the title.

Yesterday I uploaded another fixed version of the same pic, in B&W, made by Clearly Ambiguous. I really like that one too, a most dramatic version. But digikuva did a very nice job with the colours here! I thought they were irrecoverable but I was wrong, here they are!

I also like a lot the texture of the rock and the clearness of the human figure on this version.

Thanks a lot!!!

So pretty and tiny in the forest.

I am really pleased with this image despite the difficulty in getting to the hidden away location. I really like the vibrant colours and the shutter speed used, getting the water just right! To improve I could have tried to include a foreground interest which would create more depth as well as making the composition overall more eye catching. What do you think?

The start of the River Aire's journey at Malham Tarn. On its way it meets up with The River Calder, then The River Ouse/Ure and finally the River Humber where they all flow in to The North Sea at Kingston upon Hull.

It disappears underground a few yard further on and most people thing it resurfaces at the foot of Malham Cove. This is incorrect, the Aire resurfaces a mile of so further down the Dale at Aire Head Springs.

take a picture of it already!

Caught Fuji-san without the clouds, with this happy couple admiring it as much as myself.

Iowa Interstate. Still only nine years young in this photo taken a few miles west of Anita, Iowa with hardly a notion of big things to come down the line in the future. It's October of 1993 and this is one of two daily trains on the mainline, but several of them could be found on line at once due to the slow track speeds to get from one end of the railroad to the other. This is BICB(Blue Island-Concil Bluffs). It's counterpart would be CBBI. And that's what made up the Interstate during the early years. Big long local drag freights stopping at every town to switch. There may be two BICB's behind this one that will show up 24 and 48 hours later respectively. Oh, and just to let you know that aren't seeing things, yes, there are 7 Paducah geeps for power. Seven. Humble Beginnings, indeed.

The sky was clear and I itching to shoot. The rest is history.

They are fast, they fly with extreme precision and are just fun to have around :) This one, however, wasn't in any hurry and would let me take a couple of shots before warming up and taking off.

A humble little cafe that served delicious, traditional Italian fare!

At the top of the Kavanaugh Ridge 4x4 trail. A short hike from the end of the trail. The vehicles gives a since of scale.

The start of the gingerbread candy village.

In the Jungle.

Daisies are so sweet with their light and airy qualities. Having a humble beauty is ok, if you ask me. I'm sure there are opinions to the contrary and they are certainly welcome.

The Amazing iPhoneography group is now over 1,000 members. Almost double what it was a week ago.

An interesting trend I'm seeing is that is different with iPhoneography is that for the most part, the things being posted are about the picture. The descriptions, if any are very simple and maybe with a few hashtags. There's not a lot of garbage being added on. Probably because people are living their lives and doing things mobile instead of being tethered to a computer. What a concept!

Which is exactly why I joined Flickr in the first place. I love Flickr! I would much rather see an artistic iPhone picture with a minimal descpription than to see a fine art photographer ruin the beauty in their pictures with a time-consuming rant about how we are a bunch of consumerists when they have an Etsy store themselves. Or otherwise put themselves on a pedestal with their quest for Flickr stardom. It's about the pictures.

There is some beautiful photography here on Flickr, iPhoneography included. That's what I love to see!
