Sheyenne River in the Sheyenne River Valley - Barnes County, North Dakota. 2/22

The river winds throughout the valley, hugging a few abandoned farmsteads. The North Dakota Fisheries and Wildlife has a few fish hatcheries down here, one being at Baldhill Dam where the river turns into Lake Ashtabula. Many waterfowl protected wetlands as well.

Personally, I love there are many historic or culturally significant sites in this area. Fascinating to research and explore.

I had the best day yesterday and it started with this. sunrise was 7:30ish but I was here at 6:00 because I didn't want to miss anything and wasn't disappointed. I've already seen several shots of this glorious sunrise so I'm going to lead with it's beginning. the birds in the surrounding trees were starting to sing and the ducks had just started taking flight when the first glow hits Rainier and it became visible after it's evening in the clouds. the dawn will become magnificent, but I think that it's important to remember it's humble beginning.

A very old Tamron, circa 1963. It's not nearly as sharp as the modern lenses with their high mcro-contrast, but it makes up for that by creating wondrous bokehs. In my humble opinion, of course...

Many of the houses in Bannock are small humble structures like this one. The town of Bannock thrived in the 1860's as a result of successful gold mining in the area. But the population of Bannock declined as gold and other minerals began to be mined elsewhere. In addition, the railroad went to a nearby town. Eventually the town became a ghost town. Due to the efforts of a few residents in the area, the properties were acquired by the state of Montana and made into a park for the purpose of preservation.

I've always loved daisies in all their forms, but the daisies that appear, without fail, every year in my lawn are possibly my favourites. There's something very comforting and familiar about the humble daisy.

This humble cabin is beside Echo Park Road in Dinosaur National Monument. There are no interpretive signs at this site. Because it is just one mile from the Chew Ranch, it is likely that this was occupied prior to the construction of the ranch house in 1940. It is near the junction of Echo Park Road and Yampa Bench Road--a very scenic area.

My little live holiday tree...I'm sure it's anxious for it's move to the great outdoors -- hopefully will find a good home in a container on my patio :-)

God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God.

(1st Peter 5:5-6)

Mom said, we have to be humble .....

as she said that :

▶"Oxalis violacea —the violet wood-sorrel— is a perennial plant and herb in the family Oxalidaceae. It is native to eastern and central United States, and eastern Canada, clustering in open places in damp woods, on stream banks, and in moist prairies.

During April and May, oxalis violacea produces flower umbels [multiple flowers from a common stalk] with up to 19 flowers on stems, 3½ to 9 inches tall (9–23 cm). The flowers are pink to lavender to violet (occasionally white), ⅓ to ¾ inches wide (1–2 cm) with white to pale green centers above the foliage. The three-part leaves have heart-shaped leaflets, similar in appearance to small clovers such as the shamrock."

I cannot remember many times in my life where I have felt so utterly weak, broken, and destroyed. I am weary beyond what I knew I could be. This process is painful and I don’t know why it has to be this way, but it is not always for me to know the why in the moment. Suffering is hard to understand and it often makes little sense to us. To me right now this doesn’t all make all that much sense, it just hurts a lot. But I chose to still trust in God knowing that He is faithful and good! O Lord would you keep me humble and dependent on You. Keep my soul and preserve my life, for my soul feels faint and my bones feel weary. My body feels like it is wasting away and my soul feels like it cannot push through anymore; yet, I will still chose to put my hope in God. For where else would I go, for You O Lord have the words of eternal life and it is in Your arms that I take refuge!

The Humble Administrator's Garden (Chinese: 拙政园; pinyin: Zhuōzhèng yuán; Suzhou Wu: Wu Chinese: [tsoʔ tsen ɦyø]) is a Chinese garden in Suzhou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous of the gardens of Suzhou. The garden is located at 178 Northeast Street (东北街178号), Gusu District. At 78 mu (亩) (5.2 ha; 13 acres), it is the largest garden in Suzhou and is considered by some to be the finest garden in all of southern China.

The Classical Gardens of Suzhou (Chinese: 苏州园林; pinyin: Sūzhōu yuánlín; Suzhounese (Wugniu): sou-tseuyoe-lin) are a group of gardens in the city of Suzhou, in Jiangsu, China, which have been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Spanning a period of almost one thousand years, from the Northern Song to the late Qing dynasties (11th-19th century), these gardens, most of them built by scholars, standardized many of the key features of classical Chinese garden design with constructed landscapes mimicking natural scenery of rocks, hills and rivers with strategically located pavilions and pagodas.

The elegant aesthetics and subtlety of these scholars' gardens and their delicate style and features are often imitated by various gardens in other parts of China, including the various Imperial Gardens, such as those in the Chengde Mountain Resort. According to UNESCO, the gardens of Suzhou "represent the development of Chinese landscape garden design over more than two thousand years," and they are the "most refined form" of garden art.

These landscape gardens flourished in the mid-Ming to early-Qing dynasties, resulting in as much as 200 private gardens. Today, there are 69 preserved gardens in Suzhou, and all of them are designated as protected "National Heritage Sites." In 1997 and 2000, eight of the finest gardens in Suzhou along with one in the nearby ancient town of Tongli were selected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site to represent the art of Suzhou-style classical gardens.

Famous Suzhou garden designers include Zhang Liang, Ji Cheng, Ge Yuliang, and Chen Congzhou.
