What part of humanKIND is so hard to understand? 😟💔 The day I posted this on my social media two more horrific incidents of gun violence occurred, just several weeks after the mass school shooting that happened two miles from where I live.
(The heart shape had been nibbled out, but I’ll take it!)

“The Land of Eternal Night” -
Experience the downfall of humankind and the rise of the lords of the night.
In Nox Aeterna, vampire society has flourished and through impressive spellcraft they’ve even bent the sky to their rule guaranteeing that none need fear the rays of the sun ever again.
Atop the mountains sits one such stronghold, sprawling amongst the crags and peaks. Beneath it a village on the edge of a lake, steeped in tradition and protected as much by the denizens above as the forest surrounding it.

As earth's atmosphere crumbles under pressure from the nuclear war and armies scourge the remains of cities, humankind struggles to find some way to survive. A secret meeting between scientists, hosted by the U.S. goverment, concludes that the Earth's atmosphere will disappear in three years. They begin a plan to build an immense underground city.
Three years later, the war continues, the sky blackened by nuclear fallout. The government in Russia hurries to fill the hastily built underground city. At this old bus station, people frantically run toward the safety of the city beneath. People are reviewed one at a time for their identities and families. Personal belongings are left in a crate and burned. inside, they are checked for diseases or infections by a HAZMAT specialist.
Any rioters are forcefully escorted to the prison wing of the city. The poisonous gasses in the air cause some people to choke and die. Soldiers move the line along and a commander issues notices and commands from a supercilious platform.
Around this all, human bodies and destroyed vehicles lay burning as a morbid premonition to the inevitable destruction of mankind.

Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.

The story is that Mary appeared to 3 shepherd children in Portugal in 1917. She told them that God was disappointed in humankind (WWI was raging) & that he would send more wars to punish us for our sins. The wars would be caused by atheistic Russia &, to stop this, Catholics should pray, esp the rosary, & work to convert Russia . This really resonated when I first heard it as a school kid during the Cold War -- we were having regular nuclear war drills at the time. Of course the lady kind of missed Germany & we never did end up fighting directly against Russia, but she certainly had the right idea about more wars coming. For the last visitation (there were 4 or 5) she promised a miracle to prove it wasn't a scam. That day the sun enlarged, whirled like a pinwheel & danced in the sky. The lady also gave the kids a secret message, which they wrote down & gave to their bishop, who handed it on to the pope. The secret was supposed to be revealed by 1960, but it's still a secret today. For me as a kid, this secret message was the most fascinating part of the story. What was it about? What had they decided was TOO TERRIBLE for us to know?
Interestingly, as I researched this on google, guess what I came upon? Cardinal Ratzinger, the recently elected pope, had had a look at the secret message back when he was enforcer for the last guy. "In an interview conducted in November 1984, Cardinal Ratzinger (of the Holy Office) confirmed that, with the Pope’s permission, he had read the Secret and that it concerns, in his words, 'a radical call to conversion, the absolute gravity of history, the dangers threatening the Faith and the life of a Christian, and therefore the world. And also the importance of the last times.' " Source is here
