Fashion's Night Out NYC 2012 was big, even though last year's seemed bigger. We passed through Soho, Limelight, then head to Upper 5th Ave, where the heavyweights in fashion are located. The biggest and most exciting store to visit was Henri Bendel. The most disappointing was Tiffany & Co. They had a private party going on in the store and told customers to go visit their store in Soho. But it was fun and exciting and a really great night out.

這本書其實滿有趣的，前半段從人類的起源開始說明
透過各種不同年代歷史戰爭、社會新聞、心理實驗、考察與與洞察，推翻人性天生惡劣和憤世忌俗的印象，應證人性善良且團結的那個面貌
很像看了文字版的老高，講了不少知名的人性實驗，像是米爾格蘭的電擊實驗、史丹佛監獄實驗(路西法效應)、復活節島上人類相殘互食的敘事，還有曼德拉與恐怖份子喝茶的歷史、凱薩琳.蘇珊.吉諾維斯的死亡事件…等搜集不同角度的史料以及被掩蓋的真實資訊，來告訴讀著們：關於人性，你知道的幾乎都是錯的
有鑑於報章媒體、政治宣傳、普羅大眾對於「人性」的偏誤解讀，他想透過這本書傳達一個核心訊息：「大部分的人在內心深處，其實是相當正派的」。作者在書中旁徵博引，以詳盡的事實和深入的查證，說明了人類無論是出於天性、身為孩童時、在無人島上、當戰爭爆發、當危機來襲，對於自己「好」的一面
又從這些延伸到當今社會層面，談論了論民主政體的模樣、教育的本質、工作的內在動機
其實看完並沒有讓我對人性有多大的改變
問題不是二元化的「人性本惡或本善」選擇題。反而，透過這些精采的正反論述，猶如偵探小說抽絲剝繭般的分析，我理解到的是人性真正的「複雜」
但我相信裡面一項明確的事實：新聞與媒體，確實將人性惡的那面推波助瀾，他們放大了個案，帶著有色眼鏡與政治利益，用狹隘的觀點誤導、散播這世界僅有的少數惡行
讓人們誤以為這個世界就是這樣，但這不又是人們想看的東西嗎？每當這些討人厭的新聞不段重播總能獲得更大的關注和迴響，環環相扣且惡性循環？到底誰才是根源？

因此我們不需要去相信什麼人性是光明還黑暗，我們選擇善良，不愧對自己的良心，「當你把一個人當人看，他就會表現得像一個人。」瞭解歷史的事實，讓我們得以明辨是非，擁有信念，影響身邊的人我想就已經足夠

What part of humanKIND is so hard to understand? 😟💔 The day I posted this on my social media two more horrific incidents of gun violence occurred, just several weeks after the mass school shooting that happened two miles from where I live.

Hadley and I are at MD Anderson again today. I overheard someone describing the crowded cafeteria packed with people with IV's and others as "too much reality." That seems to sum it up for me about this whole time in our lives. Therefore, altering reality seems like a wise choice right now.

In Nox Aeterna, vampire society has flourished and through impressive spellcraft they’ve even bent the sky to their rule guaranteeing that none need fear the rays of the sun ever again.
