A pedestrian crosses a street intersection in Midtown Manhattan. I may be off the Mark but likely, I'm thinking, he was going to a Twain station :) He definitely seemed to be in a Rush :) Thanks for viewing!

A beautiful morning at Cabane de Chanrion, on our fourth day along the Tour des Combins, a week long hut to hut trek in Switzerland and Italy that we recently completed. The ~ 100 km long trek takes you around the snow covered peaks of the majestic Grand Combins range. We hiked through breathtakingly beautiful vistas, extremely steep ascents and descents over rugged mountain passes and valleys, beneath dramatic glaciers almost close enough to touch, via airy trails hugging the ridge lines with vast drop offs but amazing views, and mountain refuges with hearty dinners and interesting people!
Hong Kong stretched behind her in silhouette,
a skyline dissolving into the evening haze.
She stood at the railing with a calm that felt at odds
with the city’s restless pulse—
a single quiet breath
held just above the water.

in the depths of madrid’s metro, time bends. the train rushes past, a blur of blue and white, but she remains still, suspended in her own moment. the motion frames her, yet she is untouched by its chaos. her warm-toned jacket stands in soft contrast to the cold metal and streaking lights, a quiet resistance against the rush.
the image feels like a story half-told—a fleeting second where movement and stillness collide. in her gaze, there’s a question, a pause, or maybe just a quiet thought. in a city that never stops, she is the still point in the storm.

Philadelphia International Airport during COVID-19 pandemic. Before the pandemic, this corridor would be full of people bustling across the terminal floor. On this date, met handful of people from train platform, at check-in, through security, and eerily toward gate. No people.
Hong Kong rising behind them in soft haze,
they leaned into the frame—
one playful, one focused,
both trying to hold on to a moment
that already felt too good to let slip away.
Cambridge behind her,
cobblestones stretching forward like a whispered invitation.
She walked with the quiet confidence of someone
who belonged to a different chapter—
lace, ribbons, and all the softness the city forgot it needed.
Outside the DOM, the wind seemed to find her first—
lifting her hair, brushing across her face,
stirring something quieter beneath the surface.
People moved behind her in their ordinary rush,
but she carried a stillness they didn’t notice,
a kind of unguarded pause that felt almost out of place
in the hum of the afternoon.
For a moment, she looked as though she were listening
to a thought she hadn’t spoken yet—
one of those fleeting truths that arrive only in passing
and leave before we can name them.
A single second on a busy street,
held together by the simple weight
of what remains unsaid.

She paused on the stairway as the day thinned into dusk,
caught in the brief hush
where the city’s glow begins to replace the sun’s.
Hong Kong rose behind her—
a skyline carved in steel,
etched with the kind of distance
you can feel even when you’re standing in the middle of it.
The glass beside her gathered her reflection in soft fragments,
as if part of her were trying to stay,
and another part was already slipping away.
Her phone sat idle in her hand,
but her gaze drifted toward the tower in the fading sky,
toward something far beyond its silhouette—
a thought she couldn’t quite name,
a place she wished she could reach,
a presence she suddenly missed.
There was a longing in the way she stood and looked,
in the way her breath seemed to slow,
as though the evening itself had reminded her
of something unfinished,
or someone too far from here.
One step downward,
but the moment lingered—
a quiet ache suspended
between light and glass.

time, they say, is an arrow.
it moves in one direction only.
its corridor is built of repeating, identical moments.
a vast, white, silent structure.
you cannot turn back. you cannot stop.
you are a solitary traveler on a straight line,
walking from one moment to the next.
the destination is unknown.
the path is everything.

a moment framed by legs, caught between light and shadow, where the gaze of the viewer becomes part of the story. the woman in the distance appears almost like memory—clear in outline, soft in substance. it's a quiet confrontation between presence and perception.

A recent visit to Catterline Bay proved to be very interesting. The terrain in places has the feel of another planet and volcanic rocks are evident. The water filled channel in the rock featuring in this photo terminates in a blowhole when the tide comes in and channels the water to an abrupt stop.... an impressive natural feature.
