The intestines are a long, continuous tube running from the stomach to the anus. Food is propelled along by waves of muscular contraction known as peristalsis. Most absorption of nutrients and water happen in the intestines. The intestines include the small intestine, large intestine and rectum.

This picture was taken as part of the "Seeing Beyond Sight" challenge at Artsplosure at Moore Square in Raleigh, NC on May 19th, 2007.

 

You pair up with a buddy (Mine was Tom, aka Roninvision), put on a blindfold, and try to make pictures using all your senses - except for your eyes.

 

I blogged about there experience, too.

 

I was able to guess that this was a Golden Retriever by feeling the ears and the fur. My parents had one, so the feeling was VERY familiar to me.

ATM live painting at Human Nature

I saw the guys from Human Giant in this food area at Comic Con and asked if I could take their photo. Rob said "Don't you want to be in it?" and I said "Yes!" So, he tells me to come stand in the middle and I said "But I'll block Aziz" and my friend Sara took this photo while I was looking back at Aziz.

 

So we took a second one.

Finally tracked down the photo of Michael in his Harry Potter costume from 4 years ago. Gosh he was so cute back then ... he now towers some 4 inches above me :)

The downtown excavations continue. So far over 100 human remains have been discovered, all from the 17th century. They expect to find more at a deeper level next week.

It was a half-day at school, & then we went shopping. Hurrah.
