These hugging buildings are actually one structure called Zebra Tower. Located in central Warsaw, Zebra Tower was built in 2010. It is 60 m high.
The clouds that had played about in the sky earlier, were now settling above the mountain across the lake. Combined with their reflections, they appeared to be hugging the distant landscape. This in turn helped to support the calm atmosphere, pervasive in the area. However, there is also that element of luck. Just before pressing the shutter, a fish grabbed a bug from the waters surface. This happened right in the center of my shot. That in turn left a small circle and I pressed the release.
Is was definitely a magical evening, as nature put on quite a show. The hour before sunset is often my favourite time of day for landscape photography. It is vivid with colors, lines and shapes show their form, and most elements are accentuated.
Second in my small critter series is this shot of very typical Black-tailed Prairie Dog interaction.
These little guys and gals kiss and hug each other very frequently. The behavior has several likely purposes, including greeting, identifying each other, reinforcing social bonds and even posturing during a dispute.
Watching these charming rituals never gets old.
Hi hi!
I'm back here again.
I hope everyone is happy and is starting a great new year.
As always, I sometimes go back to SL, I hope to stay a little longer than other times, but as always I take advantage of the opportunity to make Baron come back so I can take pictures with him.
I send you a big hug and very good vibes for the beginning of this year.
I will not play tug o' war. I'd rather play hug o' war. Where everyone hugs instead of tugs, Where everyone giggles and rolls on the rug, Where everyone kisses, and everyone grins, and everyone cuddles, and everyone wins. Shel Silverstein

You know that feeling you get when you have been fighting all day and just canget a break any directrion you turn. These guys are in the maiting pod for hours and sometimes they just need a break and want to hug it out.
Who couldn't do without a good hug in this crazy world?! (This is where the story begins, that other photo was supposed to be part 2 - lol)
This is one of my backyard friends, Mr Sandy. We also have a mated pair, Peanut and Patty, who hang with us, too. You'll never find them all at the same time because Mr and Mrs P don't like Mr Sandy. I have to keep reminding myself that it's their world and I'm just blessed to be an onlooker, so when they have their battles, I retreat to the house.
I could admire their feathers, colors and markings all day long!. The pair of sandhills, during the summer, can be found napping in the shade most of the hot summer days.
Wake up your imagination. The flower in front of you is standing on her legs and stretching both her hands asking for a hug.
A hug is a cure, love, and relief. The most important thing about a hug is that it is free and easy. So, turn around .. find your spouse, children, and loved ones. Give each of them a big hug.
Volver a publicar una fotografía después de tanto tiempo y que te la publiquen en el Nº5 de Explore no tiene precio, muchas gracias a todos por vuestro apoyo!!
My daughter found these hugging trees off a beaten path during the summer and now I have this special connection with them. Every time I return to the area, I have to say hello.
"Your hugs have a way of making everything feel okay, even when the world seems like it’s falling apart."
Double-sided file.
It's been a more challenging week this week so it was only at midday Monday that I actually read the Macro Mondays theme Texture after having more or less decided to give up any hope...
But hope comes best where least expected and here we are.
'Texture you can see with your eyes' so the challenge goes. Oh dear...
Herewith an image of a coarse metal file that was retrieved from the depths of a drawer in my garage (no, I meant the file...). The file is made of nondescript grey metal, presumably a steel of some kind. All nice and spiky and tactile for your delectation :)
The image is 2cm from left to right.
If you are wondering about the title the file reminded me of a prickly hedgehog for some reason. And I have always found in life that hedgehogs really, really need hugs... no, seriously, they do :)
Thank you very much for sparing the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image however briefly. HMM
[Daylight from above and behind with LED torch from below; tripod; delayed release; VR off and manual focus; white paper background. Processed in LR with raised contrast, clarity, vibrance; cooled colour temperature to add intrigue ;) and then boosted yellows and orange to bring out the spot colours; rotated to the diagonal for interest and a broad crop to steal more Flickr real estate (lol). Sharpened in Topaz Detail, then Topaz Clean to boost the edge detail further. Slight dark vignette, with attention given to shape and size.]
Can heaven be so far away.
So far away,
So far away,
If your voice lives in me.
There is a desert that remains,
I'm a captain without a boat,
And when you come through the mist
Stars light up in the room.
And you say:
I bring the light of the mermaids,
I bring the song of the storm
And like the wind in the sand
You lie on me like half.

I go out with different goals, this was my day to try conceptual imagery. I had an 11mm extension tube on the camera so that I could open my aperture to f/2.8 and get close. This is a macro lens but it won't open up to f/2.8 when I'm 1:1 without an ET. Finding this trio was just an added bonus. By conceptual, I needed a Banner image for my 'Mushrooms' group.
For Tree-mendous Tuesday, I am sending out a group hug to all of you. It’s the season of many happy distractions as I catch up with friends over coffee dates, shopping for that perfect gift and cooking up comfort foods as hubby does the snow shovelling. Many people locally have been so good in supporting us through our challenges this year that it is nice to show our appreciation in a small significant way to as many friends as we can. This means I am not as consistent in commenting on Flickr. Sometimes I only have time to catch a quick peak and say to myself what a great image that was. So thank you for posting your images. Instead of a lot of comments, I am sending this hug to say thank you to all who do comment. Keep embracing the world around you and showcasing the world through your eyes. In this image, it’s the Tamarack that catches your eye at first. But don’t undervalue those other trees who are there to support him or at least keep him company. 😏
