Fossils are the hardened remains or traces of an animal or plant of a former age. In Florida, animal fossil predominate. We include both vertebrate and invertebrate fossils in our programs, activities, and personal collections. Our Membership comes from many counties in Florida, other states, Canada and Europe, and includes several professional paleontologists, geologists, and Museum Curators. I found these pink beautyies in May 2012 in the South of France, Vincent Pessguier the owner of "Les Cerisiers" took me to his roses, alas the best feature of these roses is not in the picture, the scent is adorable, sweet and strong. I am looking forward to spring to visit Aire Naturelle de Camping Les Cerisiers again.

Ik vond deze ontluikende roos in de lente van 2012 op camping "Les Cerisiers" in de Luberon.
De eigennaar Vincent stond erop dat ik foto's maakte van zijn rozen, hij is er zo trots op! Het beste van deze rozen is de geur, dat moet je geloven, want houdt niet op de foto.
Was het maar weer lente. Ik verheug me op ons bezoek aan boerencamping Les Cerisiers, lekker kersenplukken en rozen bewonderen.

I love film photography most. I started to shoot on the film when i was 12 yo. after my high school I photographed on digital and in 2020 i came back to the film. In two year i spread my point of view to film and raised my family size to medium format 6x6 and 4.5x6 and finaly in 2022 i juped to do Large format 4x5.

Allonby is a village on the coast of the Allerdale district in Cumbria, England. The village is on the B5300 road 5 miles north of Maryport and 8 miles south of Silloth. The village of Mawbray is 3 miles to the north, and 3.5 miles to the east is the village of Westnewton. The county town of Carlisle is located 26 miles to the north east. Other nearby settlements include Crosscanonby, Edderside, Hayton, and Salta.
The village overlooks Allonby Bay in the Solway Firth. The area is within the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the historic county of Cumberland. Allonby, and the five-mile coastal strip of the bay, has views across the Solway to the Galloway hills of southern Scotland. Both the South Saltpans beach and the West Winds beach were awarded the Blue flag rural beach award in 2005. The village is located on the 150 miles Cumbria Coastal Way long distance footpath.
From the late 18th century until the mid 19th century, Allonby was home to a small fishing fleet. The main catch was herring. Fish yards were built where these were salted and packed in barrels made on the premises. There was also a smoke house where kippers were produced.
In the early part of the 19th century Allonby was a popular sea-bathing resort. Baths were built in 1835. The buildings still survive as private residences in the Market Square.
The village has a 17th century coaching inn now known as the Ship Hotel. Charles Dickens and Wilkie Collins stayed overnight at the hostelry in 1857 (due to Collins' illness) while they were touring northern Cumberland.
The Reading Room, opened in 1862, was designed by Alfred Waterhouse, the Victorian architect, when he was only 32 years old. The building was largely financed by Joseph Pease who was Britain's first Quaker MP.

For all I know they could be planning to raise a hasty spire like the Chrysler Building did. But it looks like their quest for the sky is reaching some sort of conclusion.
How many people can downtown Manhattan hold? The sidewalks in my neighborhood are getting that unpleasant moving-herd feeling of midtown, you know, that savory mix of stationary tourists and frantic commerce. The strain on the infrastructure (electricity, gas, water, sewage, transportation etc.) from these giant buildings, populating the spaces of former parking-lots and six-story tenements, must be huge.
And personally, having all these new eyes possibly staring down at my tenement apartment, from vantages only allowed before to birds and helicopters is unpleasant. But it is not all bad. I still have a six-story winter sunset horizon south of these buildings, something to cheer my early Winter evenings. And in the heat of Summer, sunsets are mostly blocked by these buildings, a good thing, considering the easy-bake oven factor of having west facing windows. Educationally, having these urban monoliths to use as astronomical reference is giving me visceral feel for the seasons. The coated glass and flat sides of The Ludlow (right in the photo) often grant me a rosy reflected dawn. But I'm not yet astronomer enough to know how often moonset will now be denied me.
