Outside, or with adequate ventilation, paint over the aluminum disk so it is black.

An orthographic square is a square aligned to a line through its centerpoint, usually a line oriented on an east west axis... This is not quite a Hindu proof for laying out a temple's altar space. I feel like I am missing a step.

The adhesive should look like this when applied.

Round off the corners of the square so there are no sharp edges to cut yourself.

The PVC pipe is schedule 40. This way the pipe will break before human bones.

After the dimple is sanded away a small hole should appear in the aluminum. Use the needle once more to gently round out the hole (both sides).

I used a paint marker (you could use a small paintbrush) to draw in the "coloring book lines" on top of my white areas.

Cut a 3/4"x 3/4" (apx) square piece from the aluminum sheet.

Easiest & cheapest version.

Get a pair of dog collar/chains at your dollar store - I got two for $1. They are supposed to be 20 inches long. But they weren't - or maybe that includes the two end rings?

Fishing swivels - pack of 7 for $1.49 at the hardware store.

Two shower scrunchies at Dollar store - these are heavier than I usually buy. I think I paid $1 each.

Also - key chain rings - 2 of them (can't see them though...

Take the dog chain, attach a swivel to one end, attach a key ring to the swivel thread the shower scrunchie on to the key chain. Repeat for second one. Presto there you are.

This is what I recommend to start. Cheapest version possible AND the scrunchies are softer when you hit yourself in the head repeatedly while learning to swing the poi.

Once drilled, whack the lock against something so the pins drop out. You may need to put a flathead into the chamber to turn it.

You have just opened the lock.

If there's frayed threads around the eyelet, you can apply a light amount of glue to the threads to secure them.
