Because of the way we had our lumber cut, we ended up with a spare piece of board which we had cut to be slightly smaller than the headboard (28") and we used this scrap wood as an additional support beam in the middle of the headboard. This scrap plank was attached just as in Steps 6-8. This is likely an optional step.
Pick a front-center of the flower, and attach an embellishment. I used a handful of gold seed beads.

A little crafty tip to bring the pattern back:

After brushing, rinse out the toothpaste with tap water and spit out into your sink. Several rinses are recommended.
The bulk of the headboard should be supported by placing the support beams behind the bed. We did not do any fancy measurements to be able to screw the headboard into the rails, so for some additional support we inserted Velcro with both sticky sides revealed between the wall and each support beam. This is likely an optional step.
Make sure your pins are coming together as you sew. If you get more than an inch off, this is likely due to differences in the fabric tension. Try pushing the tighter fabric more with your hands.
If all else fails, flip the strips to the right side into your sewing machine harp and sew left-handed until the pins align again. This sewing part takes *a lot* of practice.

Removing the pinion from the motor shaft had inadvertently pushed the magnet down the shaft, causing it to be slightly loose, instead of fixed to the shaft.
This caused a piercing squeel when the motor was under any load.
No squeeling without any load, so you wouldn't think there was a problem with the motor until it had to drive something with resistance.

now add some more of the wire's insulant to the legs. instead of two colours you could leave a gap like spiderbot1 or use heatshrink (which I might try on my next spider).
Sand all lumber, wiping down with a damp cloth. Be sure to sand the corners and anywhere else that might be a snag-hazard.
According to the directions on the wood stain, give your boards several coats of stain, allowing 2 hours of dry time in between coats. Then apply at least two coats of Polycrilic sealer according to the directions, allowing to dry in between. This is a two day process!
Peel off the paper from the letters, according to the WonderUnder instructions and use a damp cloth and iron to attach the letters firmly to the banner.
The book I am about to digitize.
In about 41 minutes of manual work, I will end up with a fully searcheable PDF copy of the book.
Just a note - I will not be sharing it with other people in any way. I know that it's currently in vogue to think that 'information wants to be free', but honestly I think that's stupid. The author worked long and hard to create this book, and he deserves to be rewarded with the folding green stuff. I am only digitizing the book to save shelf space and backaches in my own life- and the paper copy will be recycled.
Admittedly, it makes me a little sad to destroy the paper book. But not that sad. I know that it will not be long before I can transfer my electronic copy into a decent e-reader like the Kindle or the Iliad. I have already been reading e-books on my Nokia 770, and I really like the convenience.
De Strakke Hand again created a wallpainting on a house in Utrecht. It's a selfportrait in the window Gerard Dou painted in 1657

The camera case isn't tight enough to hold the battery spring compressed so I put a wide rubber band around the camera to hold it closed when not in use. This also protects the screen as shown here: www.flickr.com/photos/safoocat/2327665992/in/pool-vq1005/

I haven't attatched a lanyard yet.
