I was finally able to purchase my first Figma at Portcon this weekend :D She's Figma BRS, from BRS the game *O* She has these huge wing thingys, but I took them off for this photoshoot :P

Mr. Norman was obviously cold last night. It's amazing how neatly he got under the cover. I placed that fleece blanket on the chair specifically for him, thinking that he would sit on it, not go under.

We passed these old farm buildings every day on the way to the rental house - fence falling down, holes in the roofs, windows boarded up, and a relatively new looking truck parked in the driveway. Somehow even in disrepair it looked magical (and definitely Halloween worthy) But all I could hear in my head was a song my mom used to sing - How ya gonna keep 'em down on the farm

Folks i wasn't gone. But how should I put it, the weather is nice and the covid incidences are significantly low for Berlin. I'm on tour with the camera. Hey it's party time in town. We see the Warschauer Strasse S-Bahn station here. Berlin's most party-rich but also the most dangerous area. I wanted photographs from another bridge. See markings in the photo. It should be the “Modersohn Bridge”. But now I got there and was not alone. 😉 A lot of people have non-stop parties there. They dance in the sunset. Accordingly, I cannot take long exposures because the bridge vibrates and wobbles too much with these masses. That's funny because the next day at another time the people were gone. But the road traffic with too many big cars was much worse. Again no long exposures possible;)

Every time I view Landscape Arch I am amazed that it is standing. How is this possible? Nature does some pretty amazing things across this beautiful planet of ours!

A bit of trivia; apparently this arch was originally named "Delicate Arch" and what we now know as Delicate Arch was called Landscape Arch. In an early publication the names were mistakenly switched and stuck so this is called Landscape Arch. Now you know ;-).

Today we went to a restaurant in Furna, a small town located in higher elevation in the Swiss Alps near Davos. I asked our waitress Gretli if she would pose for a few shots outside the restaurant. This restaurant used to be a barn, with sun burned logs on the outside, and nicely done interior inside. The restaurant is a family run business; Gretli grew up in the house next door, and helped out serving today because they had a baptism banquet for lunch. Everybody here is very friendly.

I processed a balanced and a photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, merged them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I appreciate and welcome constructive feedback.

Tarn Hows on Tuesday evening. There wasn't a huge amount of great light about, but a bit of colour started to creep into the sky late on.

I went for a long exposure to try to get a bit of drama in the shot but I'm not sure how I feel about it. I think the dynamism of the sky might be at odds with the serenity of the rest of the scene. Or maybe I'm over thinking it!

I have the hardest time getting up on Thursday. Hopefully this pic will make it all easier. Have a great day!!

How quickly skylines change in Miami! Compared to the photo* I took a year ago (below, from the same vantage point), this one shows more buildings (but less lights), and some familiar landmarks seem to have disappeared (or are now behind new buildings). :(

Note: Not an HDR shot. :p
