Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height. My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.

How about something spectacular for a Wednesday, something that can hold you through a few days of what may be boring in comparison. This is a group of barrel cactus, each with two or more blossoms and it seems, every one a different color of shade. While I love it, this group drove me crazy!
It was overcast on the morning I got this shot. The forecast was that this would be the last of the hot days for a while, and that has bearing on any photos of cacti because cacti blooms when it's hot, not necessarily when it's sunny.
With dappled sunlight on patches of flowers, every time I moved a couple of feet, the colors would change. And composition which included these colors meant that I was going to have to include some blossoms that I ordinarily would leave out. That didn't matter: there was no way to exclude any flowers. Look at the difference in the shading of the petals of the center flowers compared with the waxy look of the outside blooms.
Today, May 12, the third day in a row with temperatures only in the low 80s, not one of these flowers were open, and many had dropped.
This was going to be the oxymoronic 20 minute snapshot! That's what it took. Perhaps I could just say, you had to be there...

I had to use my cell hone to get them all in teh shot ..taken through my kitchen window on an early snow day. I know there are more deer in our "neighbourhood", but I have no idea how many. There were lots of fawns this year.
How does a moment last forever?

Gardens of Great Britain
This is a series of photographs taken in the many gardens we have visited over a long period time. It never ceases to amaze how many gardens there are and the variety of planting they show, long may it continue.
Today’s contribution comes from RHS Rosemoor, Torrington, EX38 8PH, North Devon. Truly a terrific garden to visit.
Take one sheet of A4 paper, a few wisps of cotton wool, apply Sellotape and switch on LED torch!

How does this feel? As promised I will show you another infrared image this time taken with the IR Chrome filter. This is a digital emulation of the once existing IR film from back in the days. I started using IR a few years back just for the BNW images but when this filter came around I really started liking the color combo and decided to try it.. This is definitely not everyones cup of tea but we can all agree that we can all use more color in our lives now days. What do you think

Sunday can be hard because it reminds us that our free time gets tampered down and we have to head to work the next day. This is why it is important to put on some Billie Holiday, make a milk bath with chamomile and herbs, and indulge in some self loving! How did you spend your Sunday?
My thoughts run away from me when I think about this small stretch of land that provides this view.... So many things have happened here.
