A side comment here.

I didn't get to see this in it's finished state, which is really too bad because it was massive and magnificent at this stage. Estimated size: 15 baseplates long x 5 baseplates wide.

Shortly after the battle of Hoth, Imperial troops return to scavenge materials and information from Echo Base.

A build I've had sitting around for a while, I wanted to play around with a little camerawork and editing.

Another tiny version of a big set, this time it’s e amazing and surprisingly divisive 75098 Assault on Hoth! I started this whole project with an AT-AT so of course that gets added too.

Instructions are, as you’d expect, on Rebrickable...

This is Finse which is a mountain village in Norway. Finse station is the highest point on the Norwegian railway system. It was also the place George Lucas chose to film the scenes on planet Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back!

This is the first image with editing i think i also will do something with Batman.

Close-up of other rebels; includes two "officers" and other rebels. I like the combos I made with (some of) these guys.

It was a cold morning when we were notified we had to gear up and defend, my squadron got ready to get out and defend, and in our last minutes before the fight we slowly opened up the door, no one spoke we all have there would soon be bloodshed

Firstly, sorry for the large watermark. If you follow me or look through my stream you'll konw I never watermark images. This time I did it because the storm trooper is such an iconic image I could see it getting used without my permission, or just plain stolen.

Believe it or not I've also had some questions on what "Hoth" is. For those that might not have seen Star Wars about a billion times in their youth, Hoth is the Ice planet that leads the opening in The Empire Strikes Back. Desert Road, Ice planet, my imagination needs a tune up.

Had so much fun doing lhis after a long toy shooting hiatus.... This may be the start of a new series :)

Effects in camera, slight cleanup in Lightroom.

Yeah, you all know the place.

Giant Hoth display built by Brickplumber, on display at Legoland for Star Wars Days 2010

With these promo display, they have a 10 x 10 base with room to place their bag inside, having pin-holes on the side to connect with other displays.

Sense the promo have two headwears, I hid the hair piece inside the rock behind Han.

I was going to use one of LEGO version of the probe droid, but have the idea of using those 1x1 with handle to bring the arms closer together on the droid.

Modificate X-Wing from SIaki. Snowspeeder from Lary Lars.

What we do is, wrap it wrap it round round, then we make 'em fall down!

When starwars episode5 came out in 1980, i was just born.

Watching that movie for the first time i knew this would be one of my all time favorite movies from the 80s.

The discshooter element 1x4 gave me the idea to build the AtAt head.

That time when the Hoth MOC window display was the centerpiece of all the SW UCS/minifig scale sets. Proud to say that It drew more attention than the sets probably because it had the brick-built Wampa and Tauntaun. Plus the fact that the UCS sets were deemed too pricey and the kids didn't see much play value as there were no minifigs in most of them.

Finally got all 3 done. Now onto the battlefield and then I will complete Echo base

The famous battle on Hoth!

It is one in a series of 32x32 Star Wars scenes.

May 4th is high summer on Hoth... Relatively tropical.

"Echo base, may the Force be with you"

A small styrofoam display for my Hoth rebels (and probe droid). I started doing a trench but I changed my mind and wanted something a little more fantastical. I left the arch unattached so that I can swap it out for other ice rocks to change up the display.

How long were the Rebels based on Hoth before the Empire discovered them? Reddit posts tend to put it down to around a month or few weeks (adapting the snowspeeders to the cold, Han and Luke looking for signs of life) but in my head-canon I like to have them there for a year or so, enough time to explore Hoth and have some adventures along the way. Of course the dialogue is only there to serve the story so it's a moot point anyway but it's fun to speculate :-)

Anti-Snowtroopers mines from Hoth Planet

Made a couple changes. 86ed the black goggles and repainted the scarf and visor tan.

Little known fact: The wild wampas loved to tip parked imperial AT-ST walkers over during the cold Hoth nights. Yes, they were that strong.
