This group of special force snow troopers were sent to Hoth without being briefed about the current Hoth Heat Wave that has been blistering the surface for nearly a year now... after their initial shock to not only the lack of snow and ice but to the exposed bedrock formations, they have ventured to find shelter from the steamy surface.

For my 40th anniversary for Empire Strikes Back, I wanted to build one of my favorite scenes from the movie. This really started out with the AT-ATs. I wanted to build an AT-AT that scales with the models I have building as of late. But when I was thinking about taking pictures, I thought it would be way cooler if I built the scene these things inhabit. Thus, the Battle of Hoth was born. Everything is roughly at the 250 scale. In The Empire Strikes Back, the Empire attacks Rebel Echo Base located in Hoth. The Rebels are alerted before the attack, and raise some sort of shield to prevent orbital bombardment of their base. The Empire is then forced to deploy land forces to first disable the shield generator, before destroying the base.

"All troop carriers will assemble at the north entrance. The heavy transport ships will leave as soon as they're loaded. Only two fighter escorts per ship. The energy shield can only be opened for a short time, so you'll have to stay very close to your transports"

After the New Republic found out where the secret prison was
they send immediately an attack group to free the prisoners, and destroy the prison
After the Battle of Hoth, the frozen planet is again inhabited by smugglers and bounty hunters as a hideout. These last ones, led by the armorer, in their search for silence, find on the planet Hoth a perfect place to disappear for a while.
Despite the efforts by Rogue Squadron, the power generator was eventually destroyed by the advancing Imperial forces. The remaining base personnel proceeded to evacuate, as the 501st Legion entered the base. It would prove a major victory for the Galactic Empire, and would heavily stymie the Rebels.
Built this MOC last year and have taken pics but never got to post them, so it's your first look at it.
About 75% done, but this is what will be at Legoland 2017, not enough time to complete it. Just have to make some minor adjustments and then break down and pack it up. Only 1 ATAT so far, will make 1 more and complete the rear portion of Echo base after Star Wars Weekend 2017.
The Troopers on Hoth wore a white or beige shirt and pants, along with matching tan and white caps with ear flaps, and could carry goggles when necessary. Troopers in the field and not in the safety of Echo Base often wore a similar variant as those in the hangar but instead had more of a white and grey coloring, along with white Alliance Cold Weather Backpacks
Polar Rancors hunt troopers by waiting for them from come to the surface of ship. When the troopers the surface, the creature will bite or grab the soldier and pull it onto far land to feed.
Finally started animating again for the first time in over a month so here's a frame from what I animated.
Can anyone find a reference to a deleted scene from The Empire Strikes Back in this frame? :)
