Listening to The Battle of Hoth (when the first AT-AT appears) from Empire Strikes Back
So I've seen another Star Wars Bandwagon. :3
And I was particularly inspired by BrickaLicius to make Hoth rebels, but I'm still making some Endor ones. Personally I love how these came out and a pretty good snow effect. :D
Anyways, thanks for viewing and God bless y'all!

This image is from last winter, my brother and I visited the Ice Castles in Utah. We came away with a several interesting images. This one reminded me of Hoth, I can almost see Luke suspended in ice. I also liked the two paths at the end of the cave, it presents the feeling of choice.
The real challenge here was getting a frame without someone in it. This place was packed! Good news is they did not mind tripods. That always helps.
Let me know what you think.

First off... I'm not a Star Wars fanatic... I actually had to ask what the cold planet was from Star Wars haha.
Also... Hoth is actually Spray Lakes in Canmore/ Kananaskis Country.
I know some of you are really good with photoshop... I'm quite new to it so don't make fun of my snow, k... (tbh I don't think its that bad for my first try eh? :v)

The Star Wars hype has been crazy for me, was so glad to have watched The Force Awakens a couple of weeks ago. I watched every episode in "Machete Order" the day before. Was great to finally get back into Star Wars as I grew up with every SW toy... Anyways, besides this lil guy, expect some more Star Wars related things c:
Quick(ish) and set-up.
Hope everyone had a good Christmas and hope 2016 brings some good things to everyone.
Side Note : I've been quiet lately, as it was a fairly traumatic end to 2015 (being made redundant, finding/getting new job, then the Cumbrian floods hitting us). So I'm hoping 2016 things will settle down.
Well, there was one more photo to post this year, a photo of the Lego TIE Striker I took for a Stuck in Plastic piece. I posted an alternative version of this a few days ago but this is the real mccoy.
I struggled to decide whether Vader should have his lightsaber blazing in this or not. Having both, the cockpit and the lightsaber at the same time did not work, I tried all the different variations. For the Stuck in Plastic piece I chose the version with the red cockpit, it was about the Striker after all.
The decision wasn't merely because of the subject first however, it was also because this simply was the better exposure; the blizzard behaved perfectly on this. So, this one has better overall ambiance but the other one had the lightsaber, I couldn't let that go. I posted them both, because, why not? :)
The story in this is about Vader being stressed out and the wing layout of the Striker being good when retreating for meditation on desolate locations – such as Hoth, as in this case.
On many travels on Hoth, you can't see nothing but the sun and snow. You're really lucky if you bump into middle of something interesting, most of the times, it pretty much looks like this.
I just got new Snowspeeder, first since 99' one. I customised a bit sides of the ship by adding orange bricks ;)
Hope you like it!
Night shot taken during a night spent in the month of November near the artificial Lake Agnel (2.300 m), obviously frozen, in the Gran Paradiso National Park (Italy).
This image has a dual lighting:
from above - the moon
from the right - the lake's lighthouse (turned on for all night, even though there was not a soul for miles).
In the distance you can see the mountains Levanne (3.619 m).
The whole area was literally flooded by snow since the lower valley, about 15 kilometers below.
Forget the Nivolet area as you know it in the summer, here the situation was completely polar... and that's actually the reason why I've decided to spend one night with my tent, although I must admit that I have not repeated the experience.
This photograph is quite suitable to complete the "water theme", as shown in previous pictures in the liquid state, then gaseous and now... solid.

As Imperial walkers approach Echo Base, the rebels scurry to their trenches, preparing themselves for the battle to come.
I've been seeing a lot of Hoth builds lately, and have wanted to try to make one myself. I got some new hoth guys recently, and wanted to use them for something.
I tagged those who inspired me to make this build. Thanks guys! god bless!

Hot out there this weekend, so balance it out with this cooler image from the Dolomites. I liked how the clouds and snow melded together in this view.
Have a great weekend and thanks for looking!

Celebrating the destruction of the Death Star was swift. We had to evacuate Yavin in a hurry, and relocate to Hoth. Life on Hoth is not pleasant. We are 5 people per bunk, so we usually only get around 4 hours of sleep per night. We work hard every day. We take turns digging trenches, carrying supplies, and other basic tasks. That’s basically our life right now. It’s not a walk in the park, but we do it for the Rebelion, and for the Galaxy. - random Hoth mane
It's Christmas on Hoth, so the Empire and the Rebels (and a Wampa!) have gathered to celebrate!
Hey everyone! I built this as an entry for a contest over on Lego Ideas. Most of this ended up being really rushed and built in a few days. I also ran out of quite a few of my bricks, so it's not quite as polished as I would prefer. That being said, I'm really happy with how it turned out! Of course as a castle builder I still managed to over texture the AT-AT, but hey, I tried. :D And I finally got to use my Power Functions lights in the hallways, but in the picture you can hardly see them unfortunately...
Thanks for looking, let me know what you think!
All glory to my Savior Jesus Christ!

Last day. Took another ski up on the fell but on the other side. Got me thinking of Star Wars and planet Hoth in Empire strikes back. Day 103/365
Luke has just woken up and is looking for his lightsaber.
What can I tell you about this ... this is one of the classic Star Wars scenes, almost directly from the movie, but made with Lego's. I shot this a long time ago. I have been waiting the beginning of winter, so that would be a reason for upload this scene here. Well, winter is still on its way, but this photo at least prove that the winter is always on Hoth.
I must say that this must have been also one of the funniest dioramas I've ever built just for photography!
