If you know where to look, there are hot tubs like this, fed by natural hot springs, scattered about Long Valley Caldera near Mammoth Lakes, California.
The babe and I decided to visit the Byron Hotsprings Motel today.
I actually went to this place before like seven months ago without the babe.
It was a very much more interesting experience WITH the babe. And to my surprise she actually liked it.
We hiked up to the 50 year abandoned hotel (look it up motherfucker if you haven’t heard of it, the Byron Springs Hotel).
And we explored every single room. The poor babe was subject to graffiti words like “fuck” and “666” and “I WILL KILL YOU” weird shit on the wall.
It did not phase the babe.
She pointed out the bad words. I told her not to worry about it. We climbled up the levels of this crazy place. The babe to my surprise loved it.
To sum it up, this was a hotel to the RICH AND FAMOUS during the early part of the 20th century. Then it was purchased by the US government during WWII as a Japanese kind of POW camp in the 1940’s and it has been abandonded since the 1940’s.
It’s so cool I can’t even tell you.
Some people say it’s haunted.
The babe and I decided to explore it today.
She loved every minute of it (really).
Rock on man
The back of the Springs Hotel, in downtown Hot Springs, Arkansas. The hotel opened in 1965 as the Downtowner Hotel. Back then it was a bright and modernist entry into Hot Springs eclectic architectural collection. According to the Encyclopedia of Arkansas History, the hotel was touted as being "a European beach hotel without the beach" and had rooms with five different style of decor - "English, Spanish, country French, contemporary and Oriental." The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and it is rumored that there are plans to redevelop the property.
