The babe and I decided to visit the Byron Hotsprings Motel today.
I actually went to this place before like seven months ago without the babe.
It was a very much more interesting experience WITH the babe. And to my surprise she actually liked it.
We hiked up to the 50 year abandoned hotel (look it up motherfucker if you haven’t heard of it, the Byron Springs Hotel).
And we explored every single room. The poor babe was subject to graffiti words like “fuck” and “666” and “I WILL KILL YOU” weird shit on the wall.
It did not phase the babe.
She pointed out the bad words. I told her not to worry about it. We climbled up the levels of this crazy place. The babe to my surprise loved it.
To sum it up, this was a hotel to the RICH AND FAMOUS during the early part of the 20th century. Then it was purchased by the US government during WWII as a Japanese kind of POW camp in the 1940’s and it has been abandonded since the 1940’s.
It’s so cool I can’t even tell you.
Some people say it’s haunted.
The babe and I decided to explore it today.
She loved every minute of it (really).
Rock on man
One of the easiest captures I have had of Yellow warblers. I was sitting on a concrete wall by the lagoon at Harrison Hotsprings checking out photos on my camera and this little one popped out of a clump of willows.
The Excelsior Geyser was once the largest geyser in the world, erupting regularly with plumes of water reaching 300 ft. However, these eruptions ceased in the late 1880s, and other than several random eruptions in the mid-1980s, the geyser is now dormant and considered a hotspring that produces a rather impressive 4000 gallons of 199 ˚F water per minute.
This one started out that I wanted to do some clouds with those bright edges. Didn't really have any scene in mind for the bottom. Put this warm spring photo that I took a couple years ago on this one. Pleased with the outcome.
