Borrowed a Calculus book from one of my co-workers. Got Hadley to pose with his drawing materials for designing our house-to-be. Doesn't match the Calculus book---but I liked the look of the book and the idea of a home plan as home work.
After Hayley gets home from school, she changes out of her uniform, has a snack, and tells us about her day. Then we buckle down and get her homework done. In grade one now they have some every day, including writing, reading comprehension, a short book to read, a sheet of math, and practicing for the weekly spelling test. It sounds like a lot but when she doesn't goof around it takes about a half hour tops. When she's not concentrating it can take an hour.
This day found her quite serious and we were done in 20 minutes.
I met her on a garden party - she climbed up unintentionally the door pillar to make her homework for the following day. It was so unreal how good she chose that position from a photographic standpoint.
