My daughter went to a friends after school, so my son and I had some quality time together. He had homework to do, which he did enthusiastically, then on the the fun part of making a small boat, then painting and varnishing it.

Day Twenty ~ Homework
One thing that I'm super impressed about at Church Hill Middle School is the communication with Dominic's teachers and the quality of his teachers. We are having a big meeting Friday (I'll share about that next week). He's working on math, which is pretty much the only nightly homework on a regular basis. See that mask sitting in front of him? He made that in theater arts, his favorite class. It's a toucan and he will be adding feathers to it later.
I toyed with the idea of using this just to, shall we say, thumb my nose at those who didn't like my darker shots. I dropped the idea on the advice of a friend whose exact words were "you don't have to pay to piss people off, you do a good enough job on your own." All too true.
Downtown Phoenix Assignment. Up on the bridge over Central. While taking some long exposure tail lights pictures I decided to zoom in (or was it out?) from 18mm to 55mm.
Why this assigment didn't get finished tonight :)
Leaving the camera sitting on my desk is counter-productive to getting homework finished.
I even found time to do massage homework (my anatomy coloring book) while the boys were out venturing one day.
They may be cute, but it's homework time that's going to snap my will like a twig. Tristan in Grade 2 has a minimum of 20 minutes of homework a night, and Lucas has to be in the thick of things. It's a half hour of hell, smack in the worst part of the day.
(Lookit his grip on the pencil, though -- not bad for a 19-month old! If only I could get him to stay on the paper. Earlier today, I had to wipe crayola marker off the television -- thank goodness for baby wipes.)
Well only one had "real homework" -- sort of (can u guess which one?)... but once one was at the kitchen table working the other two wanted to follow. I did all my homework at the kitchen table so this was a nostalgic moment for me. Is this still the favourite spot for all kids?
The amount of homework my kids need to complete these days is staggering. It's a good thing I am blessed with kids who are quite independent. Praise the Lord for that :)
