Asparagus is native to the Mediterranean and was eaten by the ancient Greeks. This vegetable was once cultivated for medicinal purposes as a natural remedy for blood cleansing and diuretic properties.
Asparagus is low in calories and provides substantial amounts of two antioxidants - vitamin A and C. It also has a good amount of fiber. It can be eaten raw, steamed, boiled, grilled or roasted. The best way to cook asparagus is to cook it briefly. A simple dressing of olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper will make it delicious. Someday I would like to try this.
Asian salad with ingredients ranging from turnip, mango, pineapple, cucumber, fried Chinese dough stick [you tiao], bean sprouts, water convolvulus [kangkong], cured cuttlefish etcetera dressed with a sweet peanut sauce flavouring with prawn paste and comes either with or without chillies.

Pumpkin belongs to the gourd family. It is nutritious and a valuable source of Vitamin A. Bright orange pumpkin is loaded with beta-carotene, an antioxidant. Current research indicates that a diet rich in foods containing beta-carotene may reduce the risk of developing certain types of cancer and offers protection against heart disease.
I especially like its subtle sweet and pleasant taste, Japanese pumpkin is also my mealtime favourite when it is in season. Just like steamed sweet potatoes, steamed pumpkin with its skin on makes a healthy delicious finger food too. After steaming, the pumpkin skin just melted in the mouth, yummy!
This time managed to remove the cake nicely from the baking tin :) And it is one of the best chiffon cakes baked without cracking on the surface :)
Storing cake in air-tight container will prevent it from drying out. We will leave it at room temperature if we could finish it in 2-3 days.
This cake was baked the day before we travelled to KL. Between, ER "ta bao" pieces of this cake for us to take along and we ate them after lunch which was prepared by Rika.

@1913 PM, Punggol 21: Bright and beautiful orange light shone through the window @1906 PM caught my attention just as I was about to warm up food for dinner…hence I got this series of photos, not stunning though. Tonight the view of the moon is just as beautiful, but sadly, our digital camera could not capture a proper image of it although I tried, caused by my poor skill perhaps. Anyway, I will post a picture of it here. - Jenny
