Homemade 105 mm soft focus lens on a Nikon D90.

(pretty much straight out of the camera)

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that my soft focus lenses can produce some nice portraits. After all, there is a long history of soft focus lenses being used for portrait work. But most of that was on large (or at least medium) format, not crop-sensor DSLRs.

With that in mind, I spent most of this session shooting with my homemade lenses on my medium format camera. Since my MF camera doesn't have a light meter, I swapped the lens onto my DSLR so that I could measure the light. So basically, this shot was taken with my "light meter."

I'll post the "real photos" once they've been scanned.

Ice cream is soft, creamy, without ice crystals. Do not need a machine for ice cream or mixing every hour.

225 g cream cheese Philadelphia

400 g sweetened condensed milk

1 / 3 cup whipping cream

1 teaspoon grated lemon peel

1 1 / 2 cup fresh strawberries or blueberries

3 digestive biscuits broken for 1 / 2 inch pieces

Mix together to combine the ingredients: evaporated milk, heavy cream, cream cheese and lemon zest. Pour into a plastic, flat container and put into the freezer for 4 hours. Strawberries mix blender. Strawberry mass transfer to a container of ice cream. Add crushed biscuits and mix. You do not need to do this very carefully. Container re-inserted into the freezer and leave it there for at least 8 hours. Ice cream remove from the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes before serving. Then more easily applied to ice cream scoops.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese Recipe

1) Cook and drain an 8 ounce box of elbow macaroni. Pour the cooked noodles into a large casserole dish that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.

2) In a large saucepan, melt 2 Tablespoons of butter. Mix in 2 Tablespoons of cornstarch, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon dried mustard and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Let it cook for just a couple minutes, then stir in 2 cups of milk.

3) Stirring constantly, bring the milk mixture slowly to a boil over medium heat. Let it gently boil for a few minutes until it's thick and creamy.

4) Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in 12 ounces of grated sharp cheddar (you can use many different kinds of cheese - lots of times I'll use multiple types of cheese in one batch) Once the cheese and white sauce are evenly mixed, pour the sauce over the macaroni. Stir it, so everything is evenly dispersed. Set aside.

5) In a small saucepan, melt 2-4 Tablespoons of butter. Once it's melted, stir in a few tablespoons of seasoned dry breadcrumbs. It should form a crumbly texture.

6) Sprinkle the buttered breadcrumbs over the top of the casserole and bake it (uncovered) at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

homemade monocle

Pentax K7

It was created by Alexander Kostevich, a Saint Petersburg craftsman who previously worked with Gennady Khainov and Dmitry Parfenov on a number of legendary projects, such as RAF-2000, Okhta and LuAZ-Proto. The fiberglass car was built in 1996 using aggregates from the Volga. The engine is taken from a diesel van Avia. The front suspension is based on the Niva suspension parts, the rear one is based on the original springs. It was also planned to implement all-wheel drive, but it did not work out.

Alexander on his creation almost every year went to the Crimea, along the way traveled all over Ukraine and Moldova. The car is still alive today and is kept by its Creator.

For Christmas Eve at my mom's, we decided to keep things low key. So, I came up with the idea of making homemade individual pizzas. That way, everyone could choose their own toppings.

It went over very well :)
