The first batch of Guyanese Pepperpot went over so well, I had to make more. The second batch was made with beef only and this is the third batch, made with pork hocks, lean pork, and salted pigtails. I made enough for a potluck dinner with friends, as well as sharing with a cousin.
Almost all the diners were having it for the first time and, once again, it turned out to be a big hit! As hoped, they loved it!

Getting back into the home cooking mood, I made another dish inspired by my Hakka roots - Pork with Foo Jook and Muknee, aka Pork with Bean Curd Sticks and Wood Ear Mushrooms. This was accompanied by Chinese sausages.
The pork dish turned out great! It was very flavourful and comforting. I should cook more often.

Deep Purple was the original colour of carrots, before a mutant converted them into a yellowish white colour.
Finally, the Dutch farmers cultivated and brought out the beautiful orange carrots that we eat today!
