Carlo Crivelli (1430-1495)
Coronation of the Virgin with the Holy Trinity and saints, 1493
The Coronation, Crivelli’s last recorded work, is a stiff, crowded and richly decorated scene in which Christ and the Virgin are seated on a throne raised above the ground by a group of angels whose mouths appear to be emitting golden rays. The Dead Christ, on the other hand, is remarkable for its concentrated intensity of expression culminating in the play of the figures’ hands and the book whose pages flutter in a breeze that also causes the candle to gutter.
Just back from a long weekend in glorious Northumberland! Keep finding myself being drawn back to this same magical location on the Holy Island Causeway so apologies to those who have seen my shots from here before but I find it totally different every time I visit. It was almost dark when I took this shot late last night hence the very long exposure.

Hull's Holy Trinity Church (now renamed Hull Minster) as seen from the reflected building opposite.
Hull is the UK's City of Culture for 2017, an event that is held every four years.
Taken with Canon 5D Mk3 and 24-105 lens.
The Holy Trinity Statue can be found in the middle of Trinity Square. The column commemorates the people of Buda who died from two outbreaks of the Black Plague. The sculptor Fulop Ungleich made the column. The carving on the top of the column represents the Holy Trinity. Below this the whole column is decorated with smaller statues depicting angels, cherub-like figures and larger statues of saints, while the central sculpture exhibits a biblical scene, showing King David praying to God to let his people avoid the outbreak of a plague.
Both were imported straight from Qatar on my last day in Dubai! Incredibly excited to see such a unique colored GTO

Headed up to Holy Island this morning, hoping for a sunrise which didn't happen. There were some lovely clouds and a brisk wind though so I took this shot with a mono in mind and it turned out canny

15th Century font at Holy Cross, Seend.
Holy Cross is the parish church in the Wiltshire village of Seend (pop. 1,132), just outside Devizes. It is part of the Church of England Diocese of Salisbury. The west tower dates to the 14th Century (with a 15th Century bell stage), most of the church dates slightly later, to around 1450, with the North Aisle rebuilt in 1498, and the chancel much more modern, being largely the product of an 1876 ‘restoration’ by A.J. Style.
The church has a rich collection of Georgian and Victorian memorials, and some pleasant Victorian and Edwardian glass. The organ console, dizzyingly located, offers a fine vantage for photographing the clerestory and indeed the interior of the church as a whole.
I took this shot before-and-after I celebrated Mass and preached here on a Sunday morning.
I had a quick visit to the island today. This looking S E with the Farne islands on the left on the horizon and Bamburgh castle on the horizon to the right.
Upturned hulls of boats are converted to makeshift sheds on Holy Island off Northumberland. Lindesfarne Castle watches over all who enter the harbour.
This flash contains the holy water used to baptize my daughter. F***, this is already 6 years ago!
This are 2 pictures. Two flashes triggerd with Yongnuo YN-622C just left and right the flask. In one picture there is a thrid flash, triggerd as optical slave, with a yellow gel behind the flask. The pictures were combined with photoshop CC.
Few years ago at the Ganga Sagar festival, I took this picture on a early morning. A woman was cleaning her cloth after taking a holy bath at the river Ganga. The sun rises up and some silhouette characters behind the woman brings an absolutely dramatic ambiance.

This cheerful throwback to the Hippie Era is The Mellow Mushroom, mascot of the restaurant of the same name that has recently become one of my faves! When my brother suggested going there, I didn't think I'd like it, since the name is a little tacky, but I really enjoyed the whole experience.
As you might guess, The Mellow Mushroom is apparently a chain, and the bright decor and fun, updated hippie atmosphere lures both Boomers and Millennials alike. The service was very good both times I went there, and the food was great! A friend who went with me felt the toppings were a bit skimpy on his pizza, but I had the Holy Shitake Pie, and it was pretty yummy, as there was a truffle drizzle on it, too. Very tasty! The price was a little high, but at least I know what I'll get and enjoy when I go and pay it! I was also impressed by how clean the place was, and enjoyed the 60's and 70's music playing in the background.
I should write travel guides or something, huh? I just feel credit should be given where credit is due, and The Mellow Mushroom in Port Orange, Florida was a great place! And no, it isn't just about mushrooms. They have lots of other stuff on the menu that looked good, but I think I've found the one thing I'll continue to get when I go there!
