The top of Cascade Mountain as seen from Banff Ave, in Banff, Alberta. I was there on the weekend and was heading back to our hotel when I looked up and saw the morning sun gracing the top of the mountain.

The Convent of Christ (Portuguese: Convento de Cristo/Mosteiro de Cristo) is a former Roman Catholic convent/monastery in the civil parish of Tomar (SĂŁo JoĂŁo Baptista) e Santa Maria dos Olivais, in the Centrol region municipality of Tomar. Originally a 12th-century Templar stronghold, when the order was dissolved in the 14th century the Portuguese branch was turned into the Knights of the Order of Christ, that later supported Portugal's maritime discoveries of the 15th century. The Convent and Castle complex is a historic and cultural monument which was listed in the list of UNESCO World Heritage list in 1983.
I was at Banff National Park and I was wanting to photograph Mount Rundle (in background of this photo). However, mount Rundle was being grumpy and would not come out from hiding behind the clouds...So I looked for other photo opportunities. I liked the way the rising sun backlit the clouds and these dead trees.

Position: This photo was taken on the shore of the l akeGarda in the town of Desenzano del Garda. Desenzano del Garda is a town and comune in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy, Italy, on the southwestern shore of Lake Garda. It borders the communes of Castiglione delle Stiviere, Lonato, Padenghe sul Garda and Sirmione. The town is a popular holiday destination in Southern Europe. It attracts myriad tourists from the immediate area owing to its beautiful view of the Alps from the southern shore of Lake Garda.
This picture was taken before sun rise on my recent trip to amazing Rome. At the end of the Bridge you can see Castelo Saint Angelo which is pretty old. It was built in 123 - 139 AD! Oh the beauty of Rome!
Long exposure of Boscombe Pier.
No sunrise this particular morning and decided to play around with some long exposures instead.
Used 10 Stop nd firecrest filter, this angle with the clouds coming towards me...
I believe this is Spectral Peak on Mount Astley. It is located just north of the parking lots at Lake Minnewanka in Banff National Park. I never get tired of looking at the mountains.

Cape Cornwall and it's iconic stack, looking out over the Atlantic Ocean and the Irish Sea. As part of its centenary celebrations in 1987, Heinz purchased Cape Cornwall for the nation and presented it to the National Trust to look after. This prevented Cape Cornwall falling into the hands of private developers. Shame the same could not have happened to Land's End.
Mousehole is a picturesque fishing village on the south coast of Cornwall, just a few miles west of the market town of Penzance. The village has a rich history and was famously sacked by the Spaniards in July 1595 when the entire village, apart from one house, was burnt to the ground. That house still stands today.
A hundred years ago Mousehole was a bustling port, crowded with local fishing boats, landing pilchards. Each year, early in November, timber beams are laid across the narrow harbour entrance, to protect the village from the worst of the winter gales. Even so waves can still be seen breaking over the harbour wall at high tide on a strong southerly wind.
Mousehole today has retained much of its old world charm. Local cottages, built from finely grained Lamorna granite, huddle together around the inner edge of the harbour and its bustling narrow streets are filled with small shops, galleries and cafes.

Waited three weeks to capture this moment and this is as good as it gets. Oh well its only a 5 minute drive down the road.
Winter at Two Jack Lake in Banff National park. This is a popular location in the park. It is sometimes difficult to be here without competing with a tour bus or two.

Sabang was a tiny fishing village in the Philippines. We spent two nights there before moving on to busy tourist town of El Nido. Most people go to Sabang to visit the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River which is a w world heritage site. The arrive, see and go. In the process they miss the magic of this quiet little town. I fell in love with Sabang, its beautiful beaches, magical sunsets and quietness.

Another photograph from near Kingscote on Kangaroo Island in South Australia.
Once again unable to find a foreground before the sunset (too busy to scout the area beforehand), I resolved to photograph cloud reflections instead.
Polperro is a fishing port on a rocky coastline near Looe, with narrow, cobbled alleys and houses perched on slopes above the harbour.
Much of the village dates to the 13th century, and for many years the prosperity of Polperro was founded on the pilchard fishery. When the pilchard fishery waned, smuggling became perhaps the major source of Polperro's riches. One well-known smuggler was Willy Wilcox, who, according to legend, was lost in the bewildering network of caves that wind through the cliffs.
Now the village relies on tourism, with visitors drawn by the tightly packed lanes and idyllic fishermen's' cottages that line the picturesque harbour. Most of the buildings near the harbour are untouched by time, giving Polperro a quaint, old world feel.

The beautiful clear waters around Cornwall (UK), made this boat look like it was floating on air. Perhaps it's just my imagination.
The Rubicon is the marina area of Playa Blanca on the Spanish Island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands.
I thought I would give you all a ring with this blast from the past!! This UK Phone Box resides in Antigua - a Very Beautiful Island where my son and daughter in law got married.
Revamped a bit in lightroom 5
For those who are not familiar with the Red UK phone box/booth - these used to be in every town and village but are not in use since the widespread use of the mobile phone. Some obsolete phone boxes are being utilised --- many are used by local communities as a place to swap books like a kind of mini library!!
Have a pleasant walk along the promenade of the Valletta beach in Malta, passing all the yachts and enjoying an ice cream in hand. Encounter the majestic grounds of the imperial war museum and the fort, including the imposing architecture of the two chapels committed to St Anne.

Just like an enormous dragon spiralling up and down across grasslands, mountains, and deserts over the dusks of Autumn, the UNESCO World Heritage site, Great Wall of China glitters during the months of fall. Feel the aura of the country's breeze and the dramatic nightfall's in this pleasant atmosphere..

After numerous weather forecast checks today was meant to be a cloud free sunrise. Unfortuantley that was not the case.
Probably the most Photographed location at Trearddur Bay, I sat waiting for what was expected to be a decent sunrise but ended up as a thud while the mainland Wales basked in it, still, with this game you have to make good with whatever you have at hand, I was never just going to walk away without firing off a shot or two.
