Its nice to go out and get a really calming sunrise with soft and gentle tones to it. Enjoyed this "strange" sunrise up at Mam Tor (Derbyshire, UK) last Sunday morning. I actually didnt think i would get anything at all, but really pleased. A really strange sunrise that morning, with the fog shapes around the sun itself and a stunning colour too.
Cheers

I know I have took and posted a similar picture before but this was taken with my new Hi Tech 10mm 10 stop filter with a lee 0.6 ND grad so wanted to show everyone.
The sky was quite white at this point but the nd grad bought back some detail.
i did colour correct this but decided it actually looked nice with a cooler colour so changed it back slightly.
This is a 130 second exposure thanks to my new Hi Tech filter.
Back to work tomorrow so won't be on as much for a couple of days but will be getting out with my new stuff soon for some picture taking.
My camera was on my tripod and fired via cable release using bulb mode and timed with my watch.
Getting my photo mojo back so I've got lots of ideas springing back into my mind again.
Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou for all your amazing support helping my last few pictures to reach explore and my last one making the flickr front page :)
look forward to seeing more of all your amazing pictures through 2012.
Hope you all had a great xmas and wish you all a prosperous New Year :)
After visiting New York i popped over the Brooklyn Bridge to shoot the New York skyline from these derelict piers.
Having no tripod with me, i was grateful for the single metal post that i rested my camera on for 30 seconds to gain this image. I have hoped for a long time to shoot this scene, i think ive managed to pull it off.
I hope you like this as much as me ... please enjoy :-)

Not quite the picture I was hoping for on a dark gloomy day but hey...
Composed of 2 shots blended in photoshop.
1 long exposure for the sky and water the other for the boat itself.
Taken on Worthing beach.

Winter Light
A bitterly cold morning up on the Pennines yesterday morning. An old building I used a few months ago and wanted to try and use it with a bit of snow on the ground this time, but not quite as much snow as I had hoped for, but standing here I noticed the hillside gradually changing colour getting more and more red...you can guess what was going on behind me lol...not that the clouds were taking much of the colour.

Last week while on vacation, I got up for an early sunrise on the Gulf Coast. It was the only morning I got out for photography. It was nice to be able to get my feet wet while photographing a fishing pier again.

This is 10minutes,(600seconds) long exposure shot, which was my longest one ever. With that time I could achieve this smooth sky and sea surface.

Taken at 00:12. With the lovely midnight sun glowing I was looking for a composition, when suddenly these glowing pink flowers appeared in my sight!

Please bear with me, this is part two of a series of shots showing how the sunset developed at Godrevy.
At this point I had moved on from anticipation into hope. The horizon had stayed clear and the sunset was fast approaching. It was also at this point that I was rather happy that I had passed up the opportunity to watch Poldark whilst in Poldark country.
Penedo do Guincho - Santa Cruz
One of the landmarks and the most unique business card from Santa Cruz Beach
Penedo do Guincho is formed by a towering rock structure that stands out
of the surrounding cliffs, 30 meters high and 100 in circumference;
having a crack at its base arched and crossed the sea. In the days of tide
low is possible to cross the opening of the rock on dry ground.
On top of its grandeur and majestic as this rock, having the same
structure that lies Riba Yellow border, perhaps the faithful vassal
sea seems to provide it, resist their separation. Increasingly away from Riba
Yellow or under the action of the sea and the weather was destroyed.
