It was an unforgettable session with a perfect morning light. I've been waiting for this day for several months, thinking about the cadres I wanted to do.

There are only a few places at the church where you can use a wide-angle lens. In a few photos I used the Hitech ND 0.9 Grad Soft filter (85x110), and some of the photos I took from the tripod and hand in places where I could not use a tripod.

Such an unusual moment, in addition to the uniqueness of the mood of peace and quiet during this session was an unexpected meeting. When I quietly moved around the church taking photos - suddenly I heard somebody was running (on a steep road from stone blocks) and the conversation of two people (father and son) and their loud breaths (the church is on the hill and it was very early) - their surprise that this time of the day someone is photographing in this place was immeasurable and unforgettable.

Went back to my spot at Loch Lomond this evening. I’d been there earlier last week to get this shot however the image was slightly out of focus. I liked the way this turned out and love my new firecrest 13 stop. Have a peaceful weekend.

Standing between idyllic Lough Swilly and sandy Mulroy Bay, Fanad Head Lighthouse has been voted one of the most beautiful lighthouses in the world, essential to seafarers following a tragedy over 200 years ago. In December 1811, the frigate Saldanha sought shelter from a storm, heading towards Fanad as it frantically fought the raging wind and waves. Sadly, reaching shore safely never happened, and the ship was wrecked off the northern coast – its only survivor was the ship’s parrot.

Long exposure using a 16 stop ND filter and firecrest holder.

The tide was out so took advantage to have a go at some late afternoon long exposures, bright and moody day with the clouds overhead and sun trying it's best to ruin the exposure although making use of this during processing, a moody sky and a pretty windy day all in all a fabulous day...

That's one of my favourite spots to take photos in. Favourite because it's close to my house and I don't need to go far to take a nice shot. This time it was a sunset - on the left you can see a silhouette of a church that's located on a cemetery.

I took a low point of view to show mostly the young plants. The sky is an addition (but I believe quite a nice one).

Even with the use of Hitech graduated filter, it was difficult to keep out the sunlight on the right.

Have a good day and week everone - my next photo may be many days ahead (or hopefully sooner). ;-)

BTW, thanks in advance for any signs of appreciation! :-)

Weir side story........it's not very often I can be bothered with a write up so bare with me it might get a touch dull.......

Another shot from Mondays trek to the Peak District with the Welsh one, just off the Monsal Trail.

When we arrived at the top of the weir we were greeted by half a tree, ok might have been a large branch, sat nicely on the first shelf and spoiling the view somewhat......after a half hearted attempt to move it by chucking a few small rocks at it and trying to reach it with a tripod it was obvious said tree/branch wasn't going to budge. At some point I decided to go in for a paddle, I mean seriously where is Paul when you need him? Tree/branch eventually moved with the help of the tripod and the forces of nature..................

At which point 3 toggers on the other side of the river decide that the view is quite nice now and they'll stay after all and proceeded to stand in the same spot for an hour blocking our shots..........

Is it just me or do toggers fit nicely into two categories, nice friendly ones that don't mind sharing a few helpful hints or tips and coconut ring or two, or ones that are so far up their own backside?.....best stop there it's a family show!
