Visited the Hearst Catle during the memorial weekend, and was very impressed by the design, architecture, and the POOLS!!!
The architecture was just amazing to see, and the tour was quite awesome too...although I was way too busy in taking photos, rather than listening to our excellent tour guide's introduction...:-)

This delightful outdoor museum was the next stop on our road trip to Telemark and back to Sandnes.. The vest-telemark museum is adjacent to Eidsborg Stave Church. In a beautiful forest setting, the old traditional buildings are a fascinating insight to the architecture that is uniquely Norwegian.
I absolutely adore the landscape and forests of southern Norway.
The smart birds figured out that being close to the pier is a good hung out place as there are always people there and some will always give them something to eat.

When Andy was a grad student at the University of Missouri, he created the maps for a series of volumes on the historical architectural of the United States. Each state would get at least one volume and several, including Massachusetts, would get more more than one. When the volumes on Massachusetts, Andy's home state, including this one on the Greater Boston area, his home area within his home state, were looming on his schedule, the university's grant money ran out. The project went elsewhere. We saw this volume at the Boston Public Library's Leventhal Map Center when we visited its Charting an Empire: the Atlantic Neptune exhibit.
