This is one of my favourite Scottish Wildcat photos from a photography day at the British Wildlife Centre last month.
Bald Eagle (Immature) Best Viewed Large On Black At one time, the word "bald" meant "white," not hairless. Bald eagles are found throughout most of North America, from Alaska and Canada to northern Mexico. About half of the world's 70,000 bald eagles live in Alaska. Combined with British Columbia's population of about 20,000, the northwest coast of North America is by far their greatest stronghold for bald eagles. They flourish here in part because of the salmon. Dead or dying fish are an important food source for all bald eagles. White heads signify a mature eagle of about 5 years. IMGfs_4006

Even being hungry, Vaska never rushes to his bowl, he is always waiting for an invitation. And when I say: "Go, eat, Vassenka" - only after that does he leisurely go to his bowl.
Thank you all for visits, favs and comments, it's greatly appreciated!
Walking around one evening at Circle B Bar Reserve near Lakeland, Florida, we were fortunate to come across this Great Egret scratching his toe. He measures about 38 inches (95cm) from beak-tip to tail-tip.
In 1804, Henry Drummond commissioned his friend the architect William Wilkins to transform his brick house into a neoclassical Ancient Greek temple. Wilkins, a promising young architect and antiquary, had been much influenced by his recent travels to Greece and Asia Minor. The massive Doric portico is a copy of the Theseion in Athens and the side elevations imitate the Choragic Monument of Thrasyllus. Whilst commonly claimed to be the earliest Greek Revival style house in Europe, Benjamin Henry Latrobe, for instance, was using the primitive Greek Doric at Hammerwood Park in 1792. The transformation was largely external - the old house was literally wrapped in Roman cement, a very hard render made from ground flint. This is when the podium visible today was built. What had been ground floor rooms became basement rooms and the main reception rooms which had been on the piano nobile were now at the same level as the podium. The windows of servants’ rooms on the uppermost storey were covered by the entablature of the temple facade, and is partly why it was necessary to extend the house. As at Hammerwood, the giant Doric portico is echoed by a single storey portico behind so as to provide an enhanced perspective when viewed from the hill opposite beyond the lake in the style of the Picturesque.
In 1817, before the works were finished, Drummond sold the house to Alexander Baring, second son of Sir Francis Baring who owned Stratton Park, five miles north of The Grange.
The Grange is a 19th-century country house-mansion and English landscape park near Northington in Hampshire, England. It is currently owned by the Ashburton family. English Heritage have a guardianship deed on the scheduled monument and Grade I listed building, with the Grade II* listed gardens and monument's exterior open to the public. The house and gardens are also available to rent for parties and weddings. Grange Park Opera staged opera at The Grange every Summer from 1998 to 2016. From June 2017 The Grange Festival became the new resident opera company.

Rural Morning
Urging each lown to leave his sports in fear,
To stop his starting cows that dread the fly;
Droning unwelcome tidings on his ear,
That the sweet peace of rural morn's gone by
I was honoured to captured this shot of a miner to celebrate his 40+ years of service. Caphouse Colliery, Wakefield.
“Listen…” His words trailed off with a sigh. When he did that I knew what was coming next.
He gestured to the side and spoke again, “I know you’re the Princess and all, but you can’t have me locking up every person who looks at you the wrong way.”
I stopped and gave him one of my winning smiles, I even added a brief batting of my eyes for extra measure. “You like it.” I gave him a light tap to his chest and started walking again.
I knew he rolled his eyes at me, I could feel it. A moment later he followed after, re-taking up his position as my guard. He has had his position for over two-years now and not once had he hesitated to take care of anyone who came at me with ill-intentions. Sometimes I liked to think it was simply because he was good at his job, but other times I wondered if it was something else . . .

This is my Dad's old film camera... it's a Minolta X-700. I'm tinkering about the idea of experimenting with it... how many of you shoot with film? My Dad always had a camera in-hand when we were growing up (and he still does). I think I got my love of photography from him.
Love you Dad and Happy Father's Day! I would love to spend an afternoon out shooting with you... perhaps at the farm? :-)

The light was very dramatic at Portencross during this long exposure. By pure luck a biker parked his motorbike on the pier that gave me a point of focus. To add to the drama during the last second of the exposure it started to pour with rain.
My son took this on our recent visit to La Jolla Cove, California. It makes me laugh because the sea lion is loving the sun and has such a fat, fat body for his smaller head.

Tiger is an old man, he misses Beaurje-Catootje after the death of his sister in December he stopped eating, he was so sad and lonely. Meanwhile he started eating again and enjoys the sun and sitting on our laps and cuddling endlessly with Roel.
I made this picture for his first birthday, so I can use it as invitation card. I used a offcamera flash in a softbox 50x50 in a simple setup in the living room.
I'm always sad to see fall receding into the past. It's such a wonderful time of the year.
