Malaysia has some of the most dazzling arthropod life. The Borneo rainforest is 140 million years old, making it one of the oldest rainforests in the world and home to countless species of macro photography subjects, many of which are still undescribed. In this post, I'll showcase 100 of the memorable shots from Malaysia that I've taken in 2015. Please enjoy this photo series here: bit.ly/1mH9ZdI
A B&W version of a decent run past at Rabbit Bridge with some nice lighting highlighting the exhaust.

Here is another highlight from 2019's adventures that belongs on Flickr. Here is the caption that went with this shot when posted on my FB photography page at that time.
Dave Blaze 2 - Battenkill 6
That's the new lifetime score and I've bumped my batting average up to .250 but don't you think this one should be worth extra points?!
I didn't even plan to go west or railfan at all on Friday (yesterday) but then my plans fell thru and the weather was crappy in Boston so I debated. The BKRR railfan page said there were loads at Eagle Bridge and 11R was dropping more and the 4116 (their RS3) had tied up there so all indications were there would be a Friday AM run northbound with loads.
So off I went on the nearly 3 1/2 hr drive and as I pulled up to Eagle Bridge sure enough the 4116 was idling away with that great Alco burble and the new cars from PAS were set out on the interchange.
But something else was up...they were just shoving two 6-axle heavy duty MofW flats on spot and there was a big crane positioned next to the tracks. In short order a pilot car showed up followed by an oversize load with a massive steel beam and then behind him was another!
It was then clear that their mission for the day was to shuttle theses massive loads a short half mile to where the State Rt 67 bridge over their mainline and the parallel Owl Kill was being rebuilt. These massive i-beams were clearly for that.
Anyway, easily two dozen railfans and I were on hand to watch the loading process. And once they were done we were rewarded with this sight of them crossing the Hoosic River to the job site with the riverbank ablaze in late summer wild flowers.
So while the mainline run was tiny, it did include what is arguably the scenic highlight on the whole line...this spot!
I'll post more soon of the loading process and the job site but this one is by far may favorite and deserves a stand alone post. Sometimes one image is worth a 7 hr round trip!
And this was only two beams on this move. Two more are staged presumably for Monday loading and setting and then four more (2 more runs) appear to be required though I'm not sure if the latter four will move by rail or road to the job site.
