Higher New Bridge crosses the river Tamar just north of Launceston. The Tamar forms the historic border between Devon and Cornwall and for many years presented a serious obstacle for trade and travel. Now however there are 23 bridges across the river along with 2 viaducts and 4 ferries.

The barn complex at Treglisson is a beautiful, ivied, 19th-century survivor. I wonder when it fell into desuetude?

Hydrangea
Genus
Hydrangea is a genus of 70–75 species of flowering plants native to southern and eastern Asia and the Americas. By far the greatest species diversity is in eastern Asia, notably China, Japan, and Korea. Most are shrubs 1 to 3 meters tall, but some are small trees, and others lianas reaching up to 30 m by climbing up trees. They can be either deciduous or evergreen, though the widely cultivated temperate species are all deciduous.

Your genius will shine through, and happiness will fill your life, the instant you discover your higher purpose and then direct all your energies towards it."

Higher Shelf Stones, Bleaklow, Peak District, UK
After photographing waterfalls in the overcast conditions, I passed through Glossop and onto the Snake Pass. The light was great but I couldn't find anywhere to take photos. When I got to the Pennine Way, the light was looking good on Bleaklow. I decided to head to Higher Shelf Stones in the distance. I took a few photos on the way up and it was clear the sun would soon be lost to cloud. I decided to carry on anyway. There was a brief moment where a gap appeared in the clouds big enough for some of the sun to break through and light the rocks a little.

15c Roodscreen of eight bays across the chancel & north lady chapel entrances. Restored with replacement coving in early 20c. It is unusual that as well as the painted saints facing west to the congregation, there are also scenes from the life of BVM & other figures facing east to the north chapel altar and south on the parclose screen between the chapel and chancel.
