Psalm 61:2: “From the end of the earth will I cry unto Thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
Immortal Queen - Sia

lyrics
Get in your time machine and step to the future
Check it, I'm queen every time that you look to
Kid robots bring me a champagne
I'ma get you, get you, get you, get you saying my name
I'm a matrix, gonna play tricks
Gonna cut sick, gonna get my pick, gonna lick, lick
Immune to absolution is my skill
Keep it fresh, fresh, keep my lyrics killer
I'ma dominate (I'ma slay)
I'ma dominate (I'ma slay, slay)
I'ma dominate (I'ma slay, slay, slay)
I'ma dominate (I'ma slay, I'ma slay)
And in one thousand million years
I'ma still be everywhere
You won't forget me
The immortal queen
Before planet Earth was here
I was riding a lightyear
And then I was Eve
The immortal queen
Get in your time machine and step to the past, past
Check it, I'm queen from beginning to the last, last
Queen Victoria, Queen of Sheba
Queen of bees, yeah, I'm queen diva
Caveman bring the cave queen carvings
Feeding the queen while the cavemen starving
Beatniks write for me and my mama
Used to be queen, didn't cause enough drama
I'ma dominate (I'ma slay)
I'ma dominate (I'ma slay, slay)
I'ma dominate (I'ma slay, slay, slay)
I'ma dominate (I'ma slay, I'ma slay)
And in one thousand million years
I'ma still be everywhere
You won't forget me
The immortal queen
Before planet Earth was here
I was riding a lightyear
And then I was Eve
The immortal queen
No, you won't, no, you won't forget me
No, you won't, no, you won't forget me
No, you won't, no, you won't forget me
The immortal queen
No, you won't, no, you won't forget me
No, you won't, no, you won't forget me
No, you won't, no, you won't forget me
The immortal queen
Ah, ooh
Whoa
And in one thousand million years
I'ma still be everywhere
You won't forget me
The immortal queen
Before planet Earth was here
I was riding a lightyear
And then I was Eve
The immortal queen
No, you won't, no, you won't forget me
No, you won't, no, you won't forget me
No, you won't, no, you won't forget me
The immortal queen
No, you won't, no, you won't forget me
No, you won't, no, you won't forget me
No, you won't, no, you won't forget me
The immortal queen

Australasian Grebe. I think these are so cute. I've never been able to get so much detail from such a distance before. Post production needs work but at least I have the image I wanted!
Every day, it seems increasingly likely that Trump and many higher ranked officials colluded with Putin and Russian higher ranking officials in a way that would undermine the actions of previous presidencies and illegitimatize our entire election. Russia just broke a 30 year treaty signifying the end of the Cold War to launch a missile and a Russian spy ship last night was found close to the coast of Connecticut. Which leads me to wonder, how much do they know about America's National Security and what damage could they already do?
Now, don't get me wrong...I don't have anything against Russians themselves. I'm a big fan of Russian literature especially...but, I don't exactly love the idea of having a government that assassinates any opponents and makes domestic abuse legal when 40 women die a day in Russia at the hands of their spouses. I don't trust the Russian government to act in the best interest of their people (look what has happened also historically in Crimea, the Ukraine, Georgia, Chechnya) and definitely not in the best interest of America and I fear even an impending WWIII if this continues to escalate.
It seems a great deal of American conservative lawmakers would love that idea, though, considering there is a new anti-choice Oklahoma law describing a woman's body merely as a "host" for carrying male sperm and a new Arkansas law that allows rapists to demand and even sue their victims if they receive an abortion.
So, I guess we know which states we don't want to visit or live in, right girls?
Last but not least, ICE is still rounding up people based on merely being "suspicious" of them which gives them a great deal of leeway to basically round up whomever they feel like it. Americans are being held hostage by a president who has sold us out to the Russians and whose wife is costing us 1 million extra dollars a day because Melania Trump doesn't want to live in the white house but somehow it's the immigrants and refugees that are the problem....right, that makes total sense.
There is going to be a great deal of protesting today and many of the chains in Chicago are closed to allow their workers to march, which is heartening. I will be going to work myself but in my job I literally support in part some of the children of immigrants so I will be there in spirit and I will continue to love and care for their children and all children with special needs or different ability levels. I can't imagine being a child in this country right now.

We lived in Dubai, UAE from 1991 to 1996 and I worked at a campus of the Higher Colleges of Technology, primarily in the Foundation's program. These pictures include college functions, as well as staff, get togethers.
These images are directly from the scanner and rough due to the age of the photographs. Over time, I may do a bit of editing on these.
So hey, I finally saw Captain Marvel yesterday! Lemme just say that it was a pretty brilliant flick, and Brie Larson absolutely killed it as Carol Danvers! So some thoughts about the movie:
I really enjoyed this movie, I thought it was an interesting yet entertaining Marvel movie. I knew that having a female as the lead role would draw some people away from watching this, but not me. I saw how Wonder Woman did it, and I knew Captain Marvel could do the same.
Like I had previously mentioned, I think Brie Larson did an outstanding job for the role. She was gentle and sweet when she needed to be, and badass when battle arose. As much as I love him as a character, I can’t wait to see Thanos get his ass handed to him in Endgame.
There were some slow scenes which were slightly unnecessary, but the action-packed battle scenes more than made up for it. And Goose is just outright adorable, and will bound to be a fan favourite :D
All in all, I think this was another success for Marvel! I would love to see more movies like this in the future, and hey, a Spider-Gwen movie would be sweet. So my final rating is...
8 1/2 ⭐️
Not the best movie I’ve ever seen, but not the worst. It is good enough to be on my list of top 10 Marvel movies though, so that’s that. But again, a really great flick! Go and see it if you can before its out of theatres ;)
Lemme know what you thought of the movie, and if you like my makeshift fig of Captain Marvel! I’ll have to pick up the set sometime in the near future
Bye ✌️

The new Sentinel-3A satellite recently began providing data from orbit. This very early image recorded on 3 March 2016, takes us over the River Nile and Delta and the surrounding desert areas of northeast Africa and parts of the Middle East.
Very distinct is Egypt, a country connecting northeast Africa with the Middle East, home to millennia-old monuments still sitting along the lush Nile valley.
In the centre of the image, capital city Cairo with the Nile snaking northwards is clearly visible, along with the Red Sea just further east. Also evident are the islands of Cyprus further north in the Mediterranean Sea and parts of Crete on the very left.
One of the suite of sophisticated instruments that will measure Earth’s oceans, land, ice and atmosphere, Sentinel-3’s Sea and Land Surface Temperature Radiometer (SLSTR) measures the energy radiating from Earth’s surface in nine spectral bands, including visible and infrared.
The instrument improves on the capabilities of the Advanced Along-Track Scanning Radiometer carried by the Envisat satellite of 2002–12, including a wider swath of 1400 km, new channels and a partly higher spatial resolution.
Combining radiometer and colour data helps us to understand the state of vegetation better.
Launched last 16 February, Sentinel-3 will systematically measure Earth’s oceans, land, ice and atmosphere to monitor and understand large-scale global dynamics. It will provide essential information in near-real time for ocean and weather forecasting, among other major applications.
Over land, this innovative mission will provide a bigger picture by monitoring wildfires, mapping the way land is used, providing indices of vegetation state and measuring the height of rivers and lakes, complementing the high-resolution measurements of its sister mission, Sentinel-2.
