Titsey Place manor house to be exact.. Shot in twilight, tripod used.

The house dates back to the 16th century and Titsey park is one of the largest surviving historic estates in Surrey.

Just to prove it, here's one in colour :-)

All Saints church, Sanderstead.

Gave the high resolution mode on the new camera a try last night. Didn't get the composition right (chopped the top off the steeple) or the shutter speed - stars are moving since this is a 8 x 8 second exposure. But it was cold - much colder than it looks - and I'd already taken a couple of shots.

This is a Panorama out of 4 x 80MegaPixel Higheres Pen-F Shots.

I did some Postprocessing to eliminate the Blur in the Water and to delete the movement of the people.

If someone is interested in how I did it, drop me a message here in Flickr.

I admit that a beautiful winter landscape would be a more adequate first post in the new year, but when I look out of my window right now there seems to be no good chance to get one. Temperatures are just too warm and no snow is in sight. So why not stick to last year's photographic highlights. For sure Santorin was one of it. This one is from a series of panoramas wich I shot early morning in Oia. The quality of the light was just stunning.

Cap de Formentor is the eastern end of the Formentor Peninsula in Mallorca and also the northernmost point of the Balearic Island. The Mallorcans also call the peninsula "meeting place of the winds".

Just some woods on the North Downs near Titsey Park.

The "Koppenwinkellacke" is situated close to Hallstatt in the Upper-Austrian Salzkammergut.

It is a pond in the middle of an alluvial forest. Its depth does not exceed half a meter, the water is supplied underground from the nearby Dachstein Glacier. During winter, the lake can dry out due to the lack of water supply.

The image is a panorama composed of five wide-angle shots.

The Vallis Alps and Plato Crater. Look around the 6:30 position, or just left near the bottom to locate Plato Crater on the surface. The image scale is 0.11 ArcSec/Pixel on the closeup image vs 0.8 ArcSec/Pixel on the full moon. Image scale can be fun.

Lucius Annaeus Seneca: On entering a temple we assume all signs of reverence. How much more reverent then should we be before the heavenly bodies, the stars, the very nature of God!

John Muir: All the wild world is beautiful, and it matters but little where we go, to highlands or lowlands, woods or plains, on the sea or land or down among the crystals of waves or high in a balloon in the sky; through all the climates, hot or cold, storms and calms, everywhere and always we are in God's eternal beauty and love. So universally true is this, the spot where we chance to be always seems the best.

Okay, they did a 1.5 billion pixel image, I'll give it to them. And a mighty fine one too.

Johann Georg van Caspel (1870–1928), also known as Geo van Caspel or Geo J. Caspel was a Dutch artist born in Amsterdam. He was trained as a figure and portrait painter, but was also a book-binder, calendar and brochure designer, and an architect. He made a number of posters for the Amand Printing Company in Amsterdam and illustrated picture books in Art Nouveau style, including The Sleeping Beauty in the Woods and A fairytale by Mother the Goose for Charles Perrault. I haven't used the high res shooting mode of my Olympus E-M5 Mk II in a while, but I was feeling withdrawal symptoms since returning the Sony A7Rm2. The Olympus high res mode has issues with moving subjects, but it's fine for this building.
