You haven't missed anything in 2023 yet, the picture is from last year.

I have not seen a highkey portrait of a bee before :))

I keep following these bees on a flower show and I followed them on white flowers too. White flowers in foreground and in bokeh.

Only Little adjustments were done. I am not a PS PP expert.

The same apple lighted twice:

- once as highkey, I put it on a slightly shiny IKEA-shelf and used a 550EX just outside the frame at camera-right with a LumiQuest BigBounce. The background is a curved white A4-sheet light by a 420EX with cardboard gobo. It's shot as 175mm f/2.8, so you don't see the seem of the A4-sheet

- once as lowkey, I put it on a black fleece-plaid and used a 420EX with cardboard-snoot at camera-left

Setup shot for the yoga stuff I did here.

Strobist: 2 flagged sb28's at 1/4 power, Sony HVL-56AM at 1/2 with brolly.

If I was going to do this again, I'd follow Zak Arias' tutorial a bit more closely. I'd also rent BIG softbox and mono light.

Checkout the arc of light coming from the brolly!

Anything higher than ISO 200 is too noisy for this sort of stuff on the A700 but I think I got away with it.

Lace Cap Hydrandea

Spent some time on the front porch with some different setups. Used a piece of white foam board and a white dinner plate as the background. The porch was in partial morning to noon shade.

Took a monochrome shot of the vase and the flower in camera by accident but ended up liking it. Then I brought it into PS and layered on another image that I took in color. Used a layer mask to remove most of the color except on the vase. Added a frame in Color Efex Pro.

Heading to Massachusetts this week to see friends and my Mom and to celebrate 100 year anniversary of the nursing home she and many of my family have lived in those years.

You can see some other setups I played with involving marshmallows, taffy, and a nun. Still not happy with how unsharp some of my photos still are. www.flickr.com/photos/needlepointernc/

Tests of high key and transparency with Bruno (arna35) and Fabrice (Fabrice Lamarche) this afternoon.

Merci Bruno pour le cours ! Magistral !

Ah the torture we will suffer for Camera Labs...and the embarrassment of a self-portrait. Gee-whiz. Would loved to have gotten away and set-up with

Annsley for this shot.
