I took this on a visit to Higger Tor on the morning of Christmas Eve. It was a bitterly cold morning but the light was still good when I arrived.
The Burbage Valley with the old 17thC Packhorse Bridge straddling Burbage Brook. In the background on the left hand skyline is Higger Tor.
Two images of Over Owler Tor taken a in different conditions. The warm-toned image was taken just after sunset on a fine day and the cool-toned image was taken at sunset on a cloudy day. Both images were taken from Higger Tor but, as can be seen from the different position of elements on the horizon, from slightly different places.

A photo from Saturday morning. I always struggle for foreground on the Western side of Higger Tor. I'd initially tried Curbar Edge which was in the fog so, with a short time left before sunrise, I headed here.
There wasn't much above the fog. Mam Tor on the right horizon was in an out of hill fog.
There's some compositional issues with this shot but I thought it was worth sharing.
Autumn colours starting to appear in this view of Higger Tor from the Iron Age hillfort of Carl Wark.
he heather bloom is only a month away (or thereabouts) but I fancied a little splash of colour on the grid.
This was the final morning of my camping trip last year and was the first shot I took as light started to break. It's not the best composition I've ever framed up but it's a great memory for me.

I love the colour in the Peak District during the summer months, I always try and get some photos when the heather is in bloom.
