Hired a Nikon 10-24mm lens over the Easter Weekend and unfortunate for me the sky wasn't up to much the entire weekend :(
Took a trip out to Higger Tor just to have a play with the lens and to be honest, never came back with much.
This shot was processed in Silver Efex Pro.

Circular walk from Hathersage via Padley Gorge, Higger Tor and Stanage Edge.
One from this evening, John and I met up with Geoff Simpson, they found the grouse I had photographed last week and set about shooting him from various angles, only to be attacked on numerous occasions!! I nearly wept as 2 grown men shrieked and cursed at a bird no larger than a pullet!!!!
The light later never really made an appearance, just a brief burst of strong, warm sidelighting.
As a side-note,my images seem to be suffering from the cursed Flickr sharpening again, the original 1024 pixel image is sharp at source but on upload becomes soft and the smaller sizes become over sharpened!!!!

Circular walk from Hathersage via Padley Gorge, Higgar Tor and Stanage Edge.
After yesterdays glorious morning Dave, Terry, Sam and I decided to head out early hoping to catch the sunrise. Funny how you never get 2 days the same!!! We were met with low cloud, strong winds and rain (summer must be here!!!). We managed to get a few shots but due to the poor light it was difficult to get much of anything. This shot was taken from Higger Tor looking towards Castleton and the Hope Valley. 5 exposures (-2, -1, 0, +1, +2) merged using Photomatix. I haven't tried many HDR images so any advice would be appreciated. Hopefully next time the sun might shine.....Thanks for looking.

This is just the sweetest route for an afternoon stroll. Its only 4k aprox, and can be easily done in two hours. Great views, return to car park, all your route visible in front of you, so that you can lengthen, or shorten it at will. Gentlle stroll downhill, jump the stream, then return by two easy uphill scrambles to shake the cobwebs off. You can follow the stream back to your car, or do the whole walk in reverse. It is magical !
