Smoke wisps out of the water warden's lodge overlooking what would normally be a full reservoir close to rivington
The long distance views from Higger Tor high above Hathersage, especially those to the west across the Hope Valley, present many opportunities for landscape photographers to refine their skills and test out their equipment. Huge boulders, excellent for foreground interest, are scattered around in abundance and finding a safe position that also allows for a satisfying composition is a challenge that is well worth the effort.
Sunday morning up on Higger Tor. A light dusting of snow meant it looked as if winter was on it's way back again.
A small window of light under the heavy cloud allowed a few images to be caught. The opposite direction to the image Winter Breathes Again, but with the same nice bit of light.
A bonus was bumping into Andy Hemingway (andy_AHG), who I've known (virtually) for a while now. Good to finally put a face to a username

I was looking for a shot with Higger and Carl Walk bathed in golden light and some broken light on the foreground rocks as the sun came up. I thought I was in the wrong place when I saw all the photographers on Higger!! I nearly got the light on the foreground but the sun disappeared behing the cloud front - one to come back to!!
