A few weeks (seems ages now) ago I spent sunrise on Carl Wark. I was lucky enough to get some beautiful golden light underneath the darker skies above Higger Tor.
On another note, I always get (unreasonably) frustrated at people's misspelling of HiggEr Tor... as either 'HiggOr' or 'HiGOr'... does anybody know if there is any historical basis at all to those - or are people just plain wrong? The general Twitter consensus has been that anything other than 'Higger' is wrong... but the number of people who get it wrong sometimes makes me think there is perhaps some reason to the alternative? It's not like it's a difficult word...

Hope you're not getting too bored of these. It's another one from my sunrise shoot last week. Not had chance to go out for a while. Not as happy with the composition on this one but I like the fact it includes Over Owler Tor on the right as well as Carl Wark on the left. The light was really good too.
Looking from Higger Tor, Peak District, UK.
quick trip up to Higger Tor this morning, the pre dawn was lovely but the early light never made it through the cloud, cheers for looking
We had planned to go last week, but the weather was awful. Yesterday the weather was lovely. The brisk breeze was a bit of a challenge for photographing the heather and the flowers weren't at their best but Higger Tor was looking fantastic yesterday.
Higger Tor/Burbage 050524 - headed out early in a vain attempt to spot Ring Ousels - heard my first Cuckoo for the year though
The last shot of the day before I hurriedly headed back down to the car. With the rain was fast approaching, I decided to call it a day. The view from Higger Tor, using the Shelter Stones as mid ground interest, and Over Owler Tor in the distance.
Our April 5th walk took us past Owler Tor, Mother Cap and Over Owler Tor and onwards to Higger Tor where we started our walk back to the Longshaw Estate.

The aptly nicknamed kit-kat rocks on Higger Tor, looking down towards Carl Wark.
I had a nice amble about on the rocks as the mist cleared this morning.
Fine sunny morning but very cold @ Longshaw estate on Saturday. A fine view of area very popular with walkers (explored 07/11/16)
The KitKat rocks up on Higger Tor. The heather was amazing, the light was rubbish and the flying ants were on a rave!
Taken on a very windy morning looking south-west from Higger Tor across Hathersage Moor shortly after sunrise.
