Torre de Hércules. A Coruña. Galcia. Spain.

Meet Hercule, usually part of a avian show, but currently on an unplanned break in a public park in Rocamadour, to the delight of bypassers (except for the reckless dude who got too close).

Probably the best vantage point over the Principality of Monaco (and there are quite a few) is the one on the peak known as Tête de Chien or Testa de Can. Rising 550 m. above the sea, it perfectly dominates the horseshoe that forms Port Hercule between Monte Carlo, La Condamine and old Monaco. There is a French military base, but you can walk up from a nearby parking lot right next to it.

You joined Hercule in Heaven back in July. My time with you was far too brief, but the love you showed us and the joy you brought us will live on forever💜💜

======================

Located between the old medieval Monaco and the wards of La Condamine and Montecarlo, the Port Hercule is the main and traditional harbour of Monaco. Although there are still small boats there, what gets more atention are the mega-yatches moored there.

Many people confuse Monte Carlo with Monaco, when they are two different things. Monaco is the entire princely state, the 2nd smallest country in the world and an ultra-luxurious tax haven. Monte Carlo is only its most exclusive ward, where both the famous casino, the luxury shops and the Hotel de Paris are located.

The best view of it is from the square in front of the palace of the princes, above the ancient and medieval town of Monaco.

My seven year old English Setter, he takes me for a lot of walks!

26th January 2022 :

Hercule Parrot was knitted by [Great] Aunt Jane, who was inspired by Agatha Christie.

Finally he's finished. So please meet Hercule Parrot. (If you can't say "Hercule" with a Belgium accent a French one will do - just)!

He's not the same colours that were suggested on the pattern, but that didn't matter. However even though I pinned everything before eventually sewing the pieces on, I don't think anything came out as it should have done.

He was easy enough to knit, although parts were a bit boring, due to needing 2 or 4 of the same thing, the sewing up was a nightmare. But then, I've never said I could sew.

I just hope that Ismay likes him and can manage to say Hercule with a nice French accent - when she starts talking that is!!

I'm going to try to crochet some other things for her, they seem easier to work. But need to get my crochet skill up to standard first.

Unfortunately, I rarely come to drawing or painting. Although not good, but involves a lot of fun :-)

Reflections of a beautiful craft from a previous era. Nicely restored with classic lines straight out of a Hercule Poirot mystery.

A collage of all the sides of Hercule.

He's a complete mess, but I've got rather fond of him!

We have a new addition to our little family! 💜 After losing both Hercule and Ralph within ten months of each other, Antonio, Miss Pepper and myself were torn and shattered with grief.

After a particularly dark spell for Antonio back in April, we decided it was time to open our hearts to another puppy. And so we got this little cheeky fella!

Antonio decided to call him Ren Marx, after his two favourite people. The amazing musician Ren Gill (please go check out his music if you haven't heard of him) and Karl Marx.

We love you Marx! 💜

Three weeks before Hercule crossed the rainbow bridge, I was contacted by a charity asking me to foster a 10 week old blind puppy.

The charity were desperate, as the puppy would be put to sleep if a home could not be found.

From day one, he was accepted as part of the pack and nurtured, especially by Miss Pepita.

In our grief, the puppy has comforted us all, especially Miss Pepita and so Antonio and I decided to adopt him.

Please welcome Ralphy-Roo to our family 💜

Klein-Berta starts to ruminate. Ruminating is very soothing. In the early 2000s, I used to have an orphan lamb in the house. His name was Hercule, and he was watching TV with me, sitting on the sofa and ruminating. It doesn't smell good, but the sound is very soothing.
