“Curtis Gray took it upon himself, while out on his daily walk, to stop in at our local Dollar Store and make a purchase for the community,” says Cathy. “He bought chair protectors because the chairs in our main dining hall were making noise and damaging the floor. He then attached the protectors to ALL the chairs in the dining hall. Needless to say moving chairs there is so much quieter now.”

Hi, my name is Bean and I can tell you what time, love, and compassion can do -- save the lives of homeless, abused animals like me. When I was only about two months old, someone threw me from a speeding car. Thankfully, someone picked me up from the side of the road and brought me to the Delaware Humane Association. The shelter staff gave me the emergency care I needed, but they also told me that my front leg had been severely damaged and would need to be removed when I got stronger. I was placed in a foster home where I got all the hugs and kisses a kitten could ever ask for. After four months, it was finally time for my surgery. Everyone was very nervous, especially me, but the surgery went really well and after a few days I came back to my foster home to recover. My foster mom made me wear a newborn baby t-shirt so that I wouldn't pull at my staples. Everyone thought it was so cute, but I couldn't wait to get it off! I have completely recovered now and can get around just fine, but the best news is that my foster home isn't a foster home any more, it is my very own forever home and I never have to leave it! Thanks, DHA, for saving my life.
